I have an Epson R3000. The paper list has names like:

SPR3000 CPN PK v1

SPR3000 EFP PK v1

CPB MK, HPB MK, HPN MK

I've looked everywhere to try to match to my papers and can't find what the initials stand for. Ulra Premium Photo Luster doesn't come close to any of those nor does Enhanced Matte

anyone have the decoder ring?

What you are looking at are ICC profiles for the papers, not paper choices

PK (photo black) ink - MK (Matte Black) ink
SPR3000 CPN PK v1
Stylus Pro 3000 Cold Press Natural PK (photo black) ink
SPR3000 EFP PK v1
Stylus Pro 3000 Exhibition Fiber Paper PK (photo black) ink
CPB MK, HPB MK, HPN MK
Cold Press Bright, Hot Press Bright, and Hot Press Natural , MK(matte black ink)

No, but some of the FAQ for discontinued printers may help: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?infoType=FAQ&oid=79928&foid=89511

And will differ depending on location, which you do not list in your profile.

You find a list of all installed profiles, in Windows > Control Panel > Color Mangement > All Profiles. Or throught the Mac ColorSync utility.

Thank you, this is helpful.

a related question. I also use Hahnemuhle German Etching. Printing with aperture, I click on the HFA_EPS3000_MK_GermEtch ICC profile, but in the next screen Fine Art Velvet is grayed out. This is what an Epson tech said to use. I imagine I'm doing something wrong, still, but...?

Are there any other media settings available, or are they all grayed out?

very often (and I speak from 3800 experience), certain papers will be greyed out, esp. fine art papers if you choose the 'wrong' paper path. So, if your printer supports multiple paper paths, try selecting a different one and see if velvet fineart un-greys.

Yes, and a lot of that stuff is operating system and operating system version dependent. With the 3880 for example, running under Windows Vista, 7, and 8, none of the papers are grayed out, but if you choose VFA and have sheet feed selected, you get a information dialog appearing which informs you that rear manul feed has been selected. Then on exiting the dialog, sheet feed is grayed out.

I presume the OP is running under Mac OS X, since Aperture is Mac only.

YES, it was the wrong paper path. There three path choices with multiple choices inside each. Choosing Front-Fine Art allowed all those grayed out choices under Fine Art to light up.

Thanks to all!

that came with your R3000 printers lists what feed tray to use with Epson papers and it also lists what media selection to use for those same papers.
