Michael Reichmann KNOWS something!

I just read the "interview" between the two KM guys (see the news section http://www.dpreview.com/news/0408/04080402dynax7interview.asp ), and they are actually using similar terminology as Michael used on his site. Also they hint at a price that is "good value for money", based on the information thus far about this camera I'd say a $1500 pricetag wouldn't be too farr off base in that case.

However there is one detail that might indicate otherwise, and that is that the Minolta cannot be announced at photokina. It was already announced at the PMA.
Its definitaly the Minolta with the anti shake sensor. Thats what
makes it stand out. Am guessing there using the same sony sensor
Nikon uses for there d100/d70 so its the anti shake that makes it
stand out. Mistry solved. Mark my words.

In the beginning there was nothing, and then even that exploded.
If you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

Canon has a patent on a foveon type sensor so that in the 1Ds 11
would stand out, maybe too early for this though. The only other
rumour that would really stand out would be the Nikon film-digital
camera. However either of these would be very expenses and maybe
too much so for a prize.
The foveon like sensor would conflict with Paul Pope's post saying that was 30 months away.

Hey Peter, you forgot to post your link to the web site again. (Or should I say "Michael?" )

You can call it whatever you want, you can cloak it in personal insults, but it's still a commercial.

P.S. If you are actually paying that much for anything Michael produces, you are obviously the one who needs medication.
You complaining about me pointing out someone has a contest to give
away a high end DSLR that hasn't been announced yet? With as many
gear heads as we have on this site, you are just a tad bit off.

Do me a favor, don't skip a day of your medication anymore.

Plus I personally subscribe to the Video Jourmal and I think it's
absolutely great. I get it, you should get it. I devour it every
time it comes out. It is chock full of information. I can say I
like something, and I just did. I have nothing to do with Michael's
site personally, just like I have nothing to do with you
personally. The point was the secret new camera anyway, everyone
here wants in on secrets, well I just pointed one out. Take a full
glass of water with your meds, they will go down better.

Let's see: A big trade show is coming up. Christmas is a big sales time for cameras. Something might emerge from the trade show that will be hot for Christmas? There's a fearless prediction.

Unless this guy is willing to offer some specifics about a particular product, this is nothing more than a CYA prediction.

Someone will sell a ton of digital cameras in 2005 -- there, I'm a visionary too.

I love reading Michael Reichmann's site, especially the "What's
New" section. I also get the Video Journal he publishes on DVD -
it's better than any magazine you could ever get. But enough of
that. Here's something REALLY interesting -

Michael is having a contest to promote his Video Journal and he is
giving away a camera and a photo safari, he makes the following
statement:

"At Photokina in September, 2004 many new digital cameras will be
announced, but one will stand out from the crowd, and will be
available prior to Christmas, 2004. It could be yours!"

What the he!! does he know? Is the new camera that will "stand out
from the crowd" be the new 10D? I have to admit I am VERY curious
especially since Fuji is coming out with a new camera, and so is
Nikon.

What camera is going to "stand out from the crowd??????"

I know it isn't going to be the new 1Ds MkII because I doubt he is
giving away one of those cameras. So it may very well be a new
Canon, or maybe the new Minolta's with AntiShake right in the body.
Whatever it is - Michael KNOWS what it is!

read under the "Contest" word that is linked for the contest, but
right on the "what's new" page he makes his statement.

So what camera is it Michael?????

PS I put this in the 10D section too since it applys to the 10D
crowd too.

You are right and you are wrong. If I was to buy an 8mp camera it
would certainly be the A2. Without sword fighting over the
specifics, it is the only camera at that level that makes sense to
someone that wants a tool in their hands.
At first it appeared to stand out. Then phil reviewed them all.

The olympus doesn't have all the cool features, but takes higher quality pics. After looking at the specs I would have bought the A2 without question. After looking at the pics, I would now buy the Olympus.

Phil's review is objective and very useful for those thinking of buying a 8 MP digicam. It's kind of obvious that he's not very enthusiatic about them as a class. It's good to have both types of reviews available for free.

Although I am a big fan of the LL for various reasons, Michael has always been very close to Canon.

I doubt he would write something like that for any camera but the successor of the 10D or 1Ds.

Would Nikon release a 22MP full frame F6 with 10 stop dynamic range for 6000 US$ that Michael probably still wouldn't make it a headline... :-)

Best regards,
Bernard
