hi guys i own an S5000 but go on alot of fieldwork where the s5000 is too bulky to be useful....so ive been looking at a small xD card point n shoot just for using in fieldwork where a full-feature isnt needed. Ive been looking at the MJU300 and a little known fuji called the A405

the A405 is an exclusive model for the Dixons group in the UK, it is basically an A205s with a different sensor. This sensor is a 2.1mp SCCD giving 4.0mp images.

This week only its on special offer at Dixons for £150 (normally £170)... i was wondering if anyone has tested it yet or owns one?

Thanks
Andy

I saw one there and thought it was just another A201, A202 rebadge.. Still has a fixed focus lens I gather? - not good

Sorry, got it mixed up, there is an A series camera with a 4 number (404?) which looks the same as the 202 in Dixons, I wonder if it's the same CCD?.. I guess the camera you're talking about is the 2400/2600 replacement , if they've stuffed the old 4700 SCCD in that, it should be interesting !

yeah the 2600 was replaced last year by the A204. which has been replaced this year by the A205s, the A405 is a special edition with an SCCD in it, im just wondering what the picture quality is like as i just need a basic bog standard point and shoot full auto that takes xD cards and has some zoom.

Hi
As a Fuji 602 user

I bought a Fuji A405 a couple of weeks ago for my daughter for Christmas. Its was a bargain at £99.00.I believe it's gone back up to £149.00 now.
It has a Super CCD and is a auto focus lens.Images are realy good.
It is listed on Fuji's site. And full details and spec's are there.
