Welcome to the Weekly Image Thread!

This thread will appear every Saturday (GMT). If the thread is nearing full before the next Saturday, I may start a new thread and carry on until it fills or the next Saturday arrives and it is reasonably full in which case I will start another. Confused, so am I! From time to time the start could be delayed if I am unavailable.

Although this Weekly thread is in the Olympus SLR forum, we openly welcome users of all brands and models.

Please:

  1. Reply to this post and change the TITLE!
  2. Please reply to at least one other contribution, your replies encourage posters!!!
  3. If asked, please share your processing techniques or technical details.
  4. Please show the EXIF if possible. Please identify the lens used regardless of which camera was used to take the image. This helps people form opinions of the lens used with the body to possibly influence future acquisitions.
  5. If special lighting was used to create your image stating what was done may help others.
Thanks for joining and contributing this week.

Individual shots no Burst ... like we did them with film and early digital ... One more not quite executed as well but I think .. well maybe .. usable

Probably be back a bit less than last week ... but I'll try to make a few comments to posts here ... later ..

Both very nice images Paul with good foreground interest. I see you shot ISO64. I have only tried the lower ISOs a couple of times. Do you find a noticeable difference using them? Curiosity!

Andrew

The first heron image is especially good WN. I could shoot bursts with my OM1 and OM2 film cameras WN. I had a film winder that would do three frames per second! I did not opt for the full on motor winder as film was expensive. I did not shoot three frames per second more than a couple of times for that very reason! B&W bulk load was affordable if I developed it myself. I mostly liked the winder so that I did not have to and I liked the additional grip it provided for holding the camera. After I got the winder it was never off the camera when shooting.

I shot about half the dance recital in single shot mode before turning on the burst mode. Even then I rarely pushed the shutter release long enough to shoot more than one or two shots sequentially.

Very nice captures WN.

Herons aren't the most aerodynamic of birds and seem quite ungainly until they get airborne.

They're pretty good at catching fish though.😊

Good to see you're still lugging that beast of a camera on your walks Paul. Me too.

There's a moody, lonely feel to these landscapes and the scent of rain in the air.

All that good weather we had is just a memory.

Thanks Andrew maybe it’s just me but I like the quality of the iso 64 shots hard to explain maybe it’s my imagination but I do see difference 🙂

The flowers are beautiful Andrew but the kids are cute. Cuteness wins every time.

Poor Chrystal Waters. What a shame. It's so sad to see boats that could have been saved.

It has a pretty grave anyway.
