Okey doke.

Here are three from my local hikes. Quite a workout with the Pentax, but you never know when you might need a boat anchor.

I won't speak for the Mods, but personally I think it depends. The Board is not so super busy that it matters either way, but Jim's weekly thread is a great spot. I have done both many times. If you start a thread, it is likely to blast off into whatever territory someone takes it. You could start a thread showing ten shots from Manhattan and people love it. But what usually happens is someone will comment on an aspect of the shots like keystoning, DOF, best angle of view for street, or whatever and you get 25 posts talking about how to best straighten verticals in post.

These types of photos are usually not seen by tourists, because they are outside of the tourist district.

Greg - Lago Maggiore. You can‘t go wrong with any of the upper Italian lakes really.

My wife and I were shooting a wedding in the Toskany region and added a few days for R&R on the way back up north. Always a delight. Lago D‘Orta is another tip for a few quiet days.

Very slowly, due to health issues.

I haven't been to the Lake area in 30 years. We go all over Italy and drive everywhere (especially in the South). Spent a week in Milano this past Spring but have not ventured to the Lake. Will do....

Very nice, BB.

Here is one I took at sunrise on Coast Guard Beach a year ago. Fuji 100S 45 - 100 mm iso 200 1/340s, f5.6

Lake Como region is a fantastic area. 25 years ago, I stayed at a nice hotel with a distant view of the lake out a large window for $35/ night.

Not quite the shot I wanted for the blue moon but had to make do with the weather and capture something in the morning hours instead. This is as the moon was setting across from the nearby nature sanctuary.

X2D with Zeiss 250mm Superachromat, F5,6 1/20, somewhat tilted and shifted.

Same spot a bit later in the morning at 1/610, captured during a timelapse I was having some fun taking.

Those are wonderful. Were they handheld or tripodded? What does it mean "shifted" with that lens (that doesn't itself shift)? Thanks!

I took photos of that moon with my Mamiya 7 and the crazy 210mm lens. Haven't developed them yet, but would be fun to compare!

Yeah Trento, Lakes, Bolzano, Marmolada…..love those areas. Greg you might actually be able to take some photos with your GF110 with people not wearing fast fashion in those areas. If you take the GF120, you can also shoot lost of porcini and other fungi. Lol.

Wonderful capture of reflected moon and bird.

Thank you.

Both were indeed shot with a tripod.

And to describe what I meant a bit better, the 250mm SA lens was adapted via Kipon's tilt shift adapter for the X series cameras. I really enjoy playing around with that and the old Hasselblad lenses, IBIS makes electronic shutter so much more tolerable even if not exactly ideal.

I'd love to see what you or others were able to capture of it when you're able to get that all developed and processed. Only towards the AM did I get clear enough skies, I hope others had better luck with mother nature.
