Any way to get the shutter count on a G1X3?

Mine was stolen and I have another one on the way.

Given that it's a refurb from Canon USA I would very much like to check the actual shutter count (the refurb process may or may not include a full reset.)

I knew that Canon stopped including this parameter in EXIF data about 10 years ago, so they obviously are recording it in other ways. All my searches have proven vain and any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you - I googled it :)

I bought a Canon G1X3 on the refurbished canon for my Xmas gift for myself :)))
sue anne--that's a very interesting article.

The G1X III does not have a mechanical shutter, so the concept of a frame counter can hardly be applied - there is nothing to measure
