I just got a used 6D and I know that, unlike other makers, Canon don't add the shutter count to the EXIF data of images and you need third-party software to get the shutter count from the camera body. I've tried a couple of those options but neither seems to work. One asked me to update USB drivers, which I did, but neither seems capable of connecting to the 6D.
Is the cable required a standard USB to mini-USB (which is what I'm using) or is it some weird modified-by-Canon version that just physically fits but is slightly different? I don't think so as I successfully updated the firmware using the official Canon software.
This is using a Windows 11 Lenovo laptop. Many thanks for any recommendations anyone can provide.
