I shoot with an ancient E-10. I make prints up to 16x20 with no problem. Little noise (grain) and very little CA.
This is an awesome piece of equipment, as is the E-20, and I'm sure the E-1.
Write times? Slow.
Color rendition? Awesome!
Dust? None!

To all of you have moved on to other "stuff", good luck. There's no sense in coming to this forum and telling all of us what's "wrong" with Olympus; there's nothing wrong with Olympus! Olympus is just NOT dealing with your self-serving needs.

Please take your accolades for Canon, Fuji, Nikon, ad nauseum, to those respective forums and please let the OLYSLRTalk forum be what it was designed to be.

If I've offended anyone, too bad! You are offending me with your braggadaciousness regarding your "perfect" cameras.

I agree wholeheartedly, me and my "heavy, outdated, ancient" E20 will just keep shooting knock-your-socks off photos, and the rest can go "measurebate"...

Wile,

I AGREE!

I loved my E10 and still do. I bought the E1, not because I was unhappy with the E10, but because the E1 just had a couple of new features I liked.

The photos from both camera have been outstanding.

I can only agree also.................."measurebate".................beatiful description! Nothing wrong with my E10..........just the eye behind it sometimes.

Yes.

I just got back from an auto show (outdoors). I shot on tripod with my E20, and have just printed out several at 8.5x11, and WOW. I still can't believe my eyes. These pictures are so sharp, the colors so perfect, the skies so smooth, I can't imagine "upgrading" this camera for anything, at any price.

Yes, I understand that some cameras may have lower noise at higher ISOs, or faster processors, but I just don't see how you could get pictures any better than..... perfect.

Keeping my twenty.

an ostrich springs to mind
Funny, reading this and other such words of yours I was thinking more along the lines of "braying ass..."

Surely, when you find yourself sitting inside with your 10D while someone stands outside taking photos in the rain with their E-1 you'll have cause for concern?

When you run out of buffer and a nearby E-1 continues chugging away you'll need to upgrade again?

When you tire, as you inevitably will, of your new toy and need to upgrade again and again... Wile and others like he and I will try not to laugh at your expense.(pun intended)

Face it, other than lower noise at high ISO and a bit of resolution your 10D doesn't have much on even an E-20. Is this why you need to be such a pain, so you can get your licks in before the 10D is obsoleted? Maybe you can get a good deal on a 300D and learn to love the lack of basic features like spot metering?

Here's a newsflash, many of us are still reasonably happy with our E-10s, let alone E-20s, or apparently quite happier with their E-1s. Frankly, if my E-10 had the processing power, buffer and lower noise of the E-1, I'd probably keep it even longer. I expect my next DSLR to last me well in excess of 3 years.

Let's make one thing clear - people who show off their expensive cameras, are often just trying to compensate for feeling sexually inadequate. Now I admit that the Canon 1Ds is a cutting-edge piece of equipment, but all of it's capacities won't make one into a better photographer. But yes, buying a Canon 1Ds will make one forget about his sexual inadequacy for a moment at least.

Not exactly the way the word is used or the way it means. The word is braggadocio - if I remember it means something like being a braggart, a show-off, to boast . I am too lazy to look at the dictionary.

Calm down Wile!

I agree that it is childish to belittle the camera you don't buy.
But I really think that it is equally childish to get offended
by childish behaviour. This thread that you have started is rather
unneccessary. We are discussing cameras and photography here
and IMHO there is no need to bully other people (yes telling
someone that his post is offending is bullying, even threating).

Take it easy,

The Smiths had no children and decided to use a proxy father to start their family. On the day the proxy father was to arrive, Mr. Smith kissed his wife and said, "I'm off. The man should be here soon." Half an hour later, just by chance, a door-to-door baby photographer rang the doorbell, hoping to make a sale. "Good morning madam. You don't know me but I've come to...." "Oh, no need to explain. I've been expecting you," Mrs. Smith cut in. "Really?" the photographer asked. "Well, good! I've made a specialty of babies." "That's what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a seat. Just where do we start?" asked Mrs. Smith, blushing. "Leave everything to me. I usually try two in the bathtub, one on the couch and perhaps a couple on the bed. Sometimes the living room floor is fun too; you can really spread out." "Bathtub, living room floor? No wonder it didn’t work for Harry and me." "Well, madam, none of us can guarantee a good one every time. But if we try several different positions and I shoot from six or seven angles, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results." "I hope we can get this over with quickly," gasped Mrs. Smith. "Madam, in my line of work, a man must take his time. I'd love to be in and out in five minutes, but you’d be disappointed with that, I'm sure." "Don't I know!!?” Mrs. Smith exclaimed. The photographer opened his briefcase and pulled out a portfolio of his baby pictures. "This was done on the top of a bus in downtown London." "Oh my god!!" Mrs. Smith exclaimed, tugging at her handkerchief. "And these twins turned out exceptionally Well when you consider their mother was so difficult to work with." The photographer handed Mrs. Smith the picture. "She was difficult?" asked Mrs. Smith. "Yes, I'm afraid so. I finally had to take her to Hyde Park to get the job done right. People were crowding around four and five deep, pushing to get a good look." "Four and five deep?" asked Mrs. Smith, eyes Widened in amazement. "Yes", the photographer said. "And for more than three hours too. The mother was constantly squealing and yelling. I could hardly concentrate. Then darkness approached and I began to rush my shots. Finally, when the squirrels began nibbling on my equipment, I just packed it all in." Mrs. Smith leaned forward. "You mean they actually chewed on your, eh......equipment?" "That's right. Well madam, if you're ready, I’ll set up my tripod so that we can get to work." "Tripod??” Mrs. Smith looked extremely worried now. "Oh yes, I have to use a tripod to rest my Canon on. It's much too big for me to hold while I'm getting ready for action. Madam? Madam?..... Good Lord, she's fainted!!"
I just realized something. "Canon" sound like "Cannon", which in
turn is a fallic symbol.
