Does catch mean shutter? It states that it has a combination of
mechanical and electronic. If so, would this mean an F11, or even
an F16?

I think the most exciting thing about the F828 is the flexibility that the camera division has apparently been given to make the best camera possible.

I'm so impressed with the changes Sony has made with this camera. They have really responded to the market like a true professional camera manufacturer. It's amazing but obvious that the folks leading Sony's camera division are really able to pursue their own vision, as evidenced by the radical changes such as CF/Microdrive support. That is extremely rare in the world of corporate giants such as Sony.

Not only am I excited about this camera, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what else Sony has in store for the future.

Yup, it seems so.

As happy i am over the available info i am fearing that they broke a still existing NDA or it was a fault in their database :)

Regards,

Andreas

That kind of makes that one DOA, don't it? :-(

It's almost kinda sad to think about. Those guys were starting to
get pretty excited.
DOA at the Sony forum, perhaps. Still, I must admit, it's nice to see Sony finally beginning to catch up to Minolta. ;-) However, it's almost kinda sad to think about, that the heavy Sony with its clumsy shape, doesn't have some kind of IS. That kind of makes that one DOA, don't it? :-( You guys were starting to get pretty excited.

ISO 800 is maximum expectable for this small chip.
And with 2-2.8 lens it's enough for common situations.

But I feel much worser problem with noise - 8Mpx and small size of
chip ...

--Maybe I should Ebay mine and buy this F828 when it hits the States. I can't wait.

Precedent: The V1 has only one IR emitter.

But yes, as you said, this would change a lot of things both on the practical side, as well as for the technical side.

Looks like maybe they moved the IR emitters up by the sides of the
Sony logo above the lens? They don't seem to be in the old
location on the lens itself. That would sure make using filters
easier, especially for IR photography.

Catchup, smatchup. The point is that the features are there, and their ready to shoot. :-)

No, not a problem to me. I tend to use a tripod anyway. But even if not, I wouldn't expect to need IS for a 7x zoom. I can manage that without much of a problem. If the camera isn't too honkin' heavy, that is. :-)

I had NO idea where you were going with that. :-)

It is almost a certainty that they broke the NDA, either purposely or accidentally. It really doesn't matter now. :-)

None of the other sites have posted, so I think we can reasonably assume that digitalkamera was a little bit over-eager. This is somewhat understandable, although I'm sure the other webmasters are just a little bit annoyed about it. I would be, too.
