***Mini-Challenge #420*** MOTION

Taken with the RX10M2, SOOC and no PP.

I really don't do street photography but I've been expanding my experiences to have a wide variety of material and to gain more confidence shooting!!

This was taken at our local Mardi Gras parade and honestly I can't remember if they were moving when I took the shot or if they just ended a set and were posing? They were a good distance away, further up the street and I was just able to sneak a shot in while they were in good lighting.

Sometimes you have skill, sometimes you have luck. This time it was luck plus knowing my rx100m2 better and better.

Last one to get the bite is out of luck. This was an experiment. Long shutter with a flash. I always liked the sense of motion it created with the double exposure.

Those are all full of motion. I especially like the first one, it looks like the bird doesn't know what is going to hit it.

I was going to mention one of the reasons I like this photo is because of the colors! So thank you!

A question though....is 1/800th of a sec is enough to capture motion as a still in good lighting? I see people in the background that would be moving and they seem as still as the performers, so I guessing yes? If anything was in 'MOTION', would there be a blur with that shutter speed? Maybe depending on how fast they were moving?

Very cool Bill!

Nice shots Harvey. I really like #5.

I've experimented to find the optimal settings to capture my dog playing on the beach. The problem is that she's very fast and is usually running at, away, or past me. I've programmed my latest settings in M1 for fast selection: shutter priority, 1/1250th sec., center single-shot autofocus, continuous shooting, f/5.6 exposure, auto ISO. I want to stop all motion, and I'm not all sure that those are the best settings. I'd welcome any advice.
