Panasonic and their non included full printed manual

I just spent 20 minutes on the phone with Panasonic. I was transfered 3x. I told each of them I wanted a printed advanced manual for the fz100 I just bought - not the thin start up/basic guide it comes with.

Not happy. If they really want to go green they'd not include it but would have an EASY way to request it so you don't print out 240 pages yourself.
I wouldn't bother. The so-called 'Advanced' manual was obviously written by a dyslexic Bulgarian translating from Japanese to English after rolling in drunk on the day his hamster got run over. It's quite appalling (not so much the language, as the confused and confusing layout, non-standard terminology, counter-intuitive sequencing, etc).

You can use the PDF manual as a reference for those things you REALLY can't suss out from using the camera in trial-and-error mode, but it's a 'last resort' kind of thing.

Actually the pdf version is an advantage. Since the index is pretty useless, searching in Adobe Reader is the easiest way to find what you need. Printed manual is much harder to use.

Since we are allowed to state various issues on this site, I will state that not having a full, printed manual is a BIG PROBLEM for some of us. There will always be a difference of opinion on various subjects---that is what makes us speak out, and voice an opinion, or ask for help on a forum. As for me, I will keep looking at all possible ways to get what matters to me, when purchasing a camera. The manual is just one aspect of what I must have!
