Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you liked them.I like the pictures specially #1,3 and 5.
No, it's a single file, manipulated in LR. One of the beauties of the E-1 files is the low amount of noise you see when lifting shadows. It is the last picture HDR..?
That's quite a compliment, I happen to be an admirer of his work too!and every time I see great photos like these, I only want to go more.
I particularly like the first and last shots. The first one as indicated by your title is about colour itself as we find it. The last one has a Joel Meyerowitz feel to it to me (compliment). The placing of the people in the lower right corner is very "street".
Thanks
--I like them, Raj, especially the first one. The big open space of the blue wall really works with the trees, people and street. Thanks for sharing.
Larry
--I liked the simplicity and colors of 1.
4 is what I always like to do in the streets when travelling with my 9-18.
Capture everything and everyone in one moment.
Nice pictures, Raj. Thanks for sharing.![]()

That's not odd at all, I think its always good to re-visit...not just photographs but situations too...its amazing how much one's perspective about the same thing can change over a period of time. This may seem odd, but I revisit (image-related) threads that I have already looked at, in order to take a second look and reassess my opinion.
Thanks Roel...Coming back here, makes the impression I had, stronger only.
The first time around I was gripped mostly by the showstopper images (the Rock, St Patricks, Time Square). But coming back here, I am more and more convinced that the best image you show here, is the first one : a sleeper classic.
Thanks for the invitation Roel...believe me, I have a story in my head for almost every picture I take in NYC...penning those down are what I had started in my blog in the signature below...somehow I lost track and never went about it though...but what you say does make me think I should "re-visit"I have remarked about that in my C&C of Christa's essay here :
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1022&message=37096294
And I wonder : why don't you submit an essay one of the next months? Maybe even this month still.
I've seen more than one series of images from you that would totally qualify!
Its an exceptional hotel, I feel the same way about it although I've never stayed there...just visited the bar a few times. The Marriott marquis! I love that hotel! I stayed there for a few months last year and really really loved it.
Wow! You got a 150mm F/2 lens! That's great...it would be somewhat of a challenge using it on the E-1 due to the lack of IS, but let me know how it goes. To be honest...the E-1 is almost like "home", its a simple, simple camera that does nothing else but take pictures...that's why I love it!As for the photos....you've inspired me to go out tomorrow with my e-1 and the 150mm f2. I've never felt as comfortable with the the E-1 as you seem to be. We just got a fresh dusting of snow, so tomorrow.... E-1 + 150mm f2 + .3 exposure compensation and I should be set!
You're most welcome! Thanks for helping me get off the couch!
I re-worked it as I wasn't too happy with the previous outcome...I'm more pleased nowI remember seeing the first shot a while back; it made an impression on me then and I like it still. Well done.
