Found C-2100 UZI at Walmart! But $499! Pricematching possible?

No, I saw it there earlier this morning, but yes, you guys are scaring me into buying it.

I think I now have enough evidence and information to show that it's discontinued and hopefully a manager will pricecmatch.

Rooski, how'd you get the camera at CompUSA for such a low price? I thought it was being advertised at $349! Your receipt has it for like $319!

Thanks for all the help guys! I'm going to pick it up very soon, hopefully it will still be there...

Hi everyone!

Found a BRAND NEW C-2100 UZI at my local Walmart! Now I already
know how hard they are to find, especially brand new, so I'm
thinking of picking one up.

However, the price listed was $499...I've noticed people have been
picking them up at CompUSA for $350, and some Walmarts for even
cheaper!

Do Walmarts price match? Is there an ad or offer I can use so I can
pricematch them and pick this baby up ASAP?

Thanks for your help!
Got my second C2100 at Walmart last week for $499. If you have any luck getting a price match, I may give it a shot.

Wow, you're really convincing me to pick this baby up...I'm
probably going to try to go today or tomorrow to talk to the
manager to see if they can pricematch...in the meantime, can any
one post more ads showing this camera is discontinued or having a
sale price so it'll be more convincing? The COMPUSA ad doesn't show
it being discontinued.

Thanks

You'll never regret it.

picked mine up at wal-mart about 6 months ago i had in layaway for three months,it was nice paying $20 to $30.00 each week better than $500.00 at once, the local crumb usa here (st.louis mo.)has them in stock and lots of c700s to.

Do you know if Comp usa have anymore in stock? I have been looking for this camera new but cannot find it in stock. Thanks.

A co-worker just received a referb he purchased for $429.00 this morning. This makes the fourth UZI owner in our office. I think the days of $350 sales are over, some places having new stock are charging $699. If you are serious about the camera you better get them where and when you can.

WOW! Am I excited. I went today and picked up the last one in the store.

Much to my disappointment, they would not pricematch. I showed them 3 things:

1) an online vendor showing that the camera was discontinued
2) CompUSA link showing the camera for $349 in the hopes they match
3) Rooski's image of his reciept purchasing his UZI at Walmart for $319.

I was SO set on having a pricematch, but they wouldn't do it, saying that

1) they were convinced it WASN'T discontinued, and even if it was

2) the CompUSA link is an ONLINE one, and they only pricematch newspaper style ads

3) Rooski's receipt was from Calforniai and I'm from Texas so they wouldn't care.

BUT the surprising thing is that rather than the $499 price, it ringed up as clearance for $415. Being the last one on the shelf, I was quick to pick it up.

I am a happy camper so far in the short time I've been using it. It's a logical upgrade to my 2020Z. However, I was disappointed to see that the large LCD has a bright green pixel on it all the time, which doesn't affect the final image but is annoying...should I just live with it or maybe get it taken care of?

Thanks for all your advice and help guys! Maybe you guys can find one in your local Walmart too! I look forward to posting my images up soon.

Congrats on your new purchase! You won't regret it. In today's Uzi market, $415 is a good price for a new one.

As far as the bad pixel on the lcd, only you can decide to live with it, or not. You have a year to think about it. You should at least use it for awhile to see if anything else is goofy about it.

Mine has a bad pixel on the viewfinder lcd, and it doesn't bug me at all. I'll probably bring it in to Oly service (I live 2 miles from the Ca service center) and have the focusing checked out, and maybe I'll get the lcd fixed.

lets face it £270-UK is a fantastic price for an UZI, that's Fuji 2800 money, you can't complain about that - seeing as I got £60 worth of accessories thrown in with my UZI (£30 card reader, £10 NiMh batts, £20 64Mb card) I suppose mine really cost me £290 and that is blinding for the UK.. You did OK :)

I doubt they'll fix it, the EZI had a red one and when it came back, it had a note in with it saying that they won't replace the LCD if there are less than three - they only replaced the CCD rather than remapped it because the bad pixels were so incredibly high!.
New Uzi owner,
Me too :) - the UZI Head count threads have been deleted but I think it was around 200 - there have been about another 5 of us in the past few days!

Good price on an Uzi, but not quite Fuji 2800 money.

I just picked one of those up for $306 -- had Staples 110% price match this Amazon.com listing (you have to add it to your cart and then view the cart to see the price - $312.49).

But yes.... most places the 2800 is $380, and $415 for a new Uzi is a good deal.

I got the green pixel myself, and was also annoyed, but it disappeared after 2 weeks ! Wait and see !
