These questions would be more appropriately asked in the Pentax SLR Forum... but here's the solution to your enigma:
The K10D does not have a live display mode, like the point and shoot cameras do; the K20D does have a live view, which is activated by rotating the on-off switch clockwise (to the position where the K10D provides depth-of-field preview)..
If you are showing your friends an image on the LCD panel, and you touch the shutter release by accident, the LCD display will turn off. To view the image once again, touch the blue triangle to the left of the LCD panel.
This "blue triangle" button function is the same for all of the Pentax cameras, from point and shoot models through the DSLRs, and pretty much the same for other manufacturer's models as well.
Check your K10D owner's manual for quick and easy ways to use the front and rear wheels in conjunction with the LCD display, to zoom in, and view a sequence of images.
By the way, you can download a digital version of the K10D manual from the Pentax Imaging website, and it is easy to use the Acrobat PDF search function to locate specific topics. Here is the link to the on-line K10D manual:

I grew up in Montreal, and I wish I still had my LX - but if you could figure out the LX in the midst of all the action in Berkeley, the K10D should be no problem at all.
