I've been through a couple of close calls myself and looking back I always wonder why they always happen when I don't have a camera, or when I do have a camera I never witness anything newsworthy -- I guess that is the reason I didn't have a career as a news photographer.

Again, glad you came through it OK. No sense telling you to be more careful in the future because there is no way to guard against something like that happening.

I'm glad to hear you are okay Morris. Although i didn't see what happened, Some guy at the shop i work at got 3 fingers just ripped off. Just one of those days to make you hit the knees, and give thanks for the little things we still have. Robert

Hello Morris,

Thank God you are allright. I hope you are able to get over the experience
and pick up your life soon.

Very sorry to read about Mrs Leung. My condolences to her family.
Like someone else remarked, I hope she's not a relative of our Leung.

Respectfully,

André

Morris,I'm glad to know that you are o.k. Who would expect such a horrible accident could happen to you. I'm sorry about the woman who died in this accident. Nobody deserves to die like that. I think your reaction was quicker than that woman...and you know what,Morris. You're a wildlife photographer and you're now more keen to the sounds of birds or for that matter any sounds. Maybe your instinct saved your life.

Anyway,it was a close call but you survived.

Wow, that's a close call. I am glad you are ok, but please pay attention to how you are feeling. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can sneak up on you when you have witnessed what you have.

I am sorry to hear about the woman who died.

Morris, I read your email earlier and i am glad you are ok. I read about this horrible accident in today's paper during lunch time, so I'm assuming this happened yesterday. I know the restaurant and location very well. My sister went to Fresh Meadows H.S. Right across the street.

I feel terrible for Mrs. Leung's husband and family. I'm almost positive that she was not related to our Leung. I've checked his posting history and he's been active in the forums all day. If it had happened to someone close to him, I doubt he'd be posting in here.

Morris, get better mentally and physically. I will be checking up on you.

Morris!! I just got your email.... when I read it, I was thinking OH MY! that really was a close call!! Well, I am certain I can speak for all... boy are we glad you are alright!! Hopefully, it didn't shake you up too much... Hope your family took the news alright.

As for Mrs. Leung, she is not related to me.... the name Leung is quite common in this neck of the woods, NYC... But it is sad that a Leung passed away. I feel sorry for the husband. They were just simply enjoying their retirement together. I hope the best for him

Now.... the only that surprises me is that you don't actually have a picture of the van that crashed through the restaurant. That would have been a money shot for the newspapers.

Rest up my friend and hopefully you'll shake it off real soon...

I am glad that you are alright. What a terrible tragedy for that poor family.

Count your blessings and knock on wood.

Indeed she wasn't my relative... but I hope the best for her family.
