Hello everyone,

Since that golden apple brought me some luck in the previous challenge, I thought of something simple, not too “Intellectual”, that we all like (and have few times a day) for the challenge number 12: FOOD!

Therefore, the theme is any kind of food; anything eatable from any part of the world!... I think we are all going to be quite busy with the coming holidays; but, we may have some photo opportunities as well.

Challenge 12 starts today and ends on Monday, 24th of December.

Voting starts on the X-Mass day, 25th of December, and ends on Sunday 30; at 9PM GMT.

As we are approaching the end of the Year, I believe we should start the challenge right away and I hope this time table works for everyone.

COMPETITION:

As you all know, photos must be taken during this challenge with any Leica cameras, or any camera with Leica fixed lens.

EXHIBITION:
Pictures from any camera at any time.

For further information about the rules, please check at: http://www.pbase.com/leica_forum/rules

Start shooting, but give me a little time to figure out how to set up the galleries and find some shots for the “placeholder”.

Good luck to all,

Louis

Nice idea for this time of the year. Since my V Lux is the Solms garage, (don't start me on it), I can only play in the Exhib Gallery this time. It will give me a reason to take a closer look at what my little but very capable Pentax 750Z can do.

Hi Paul,
I am hoping to set up both galleries today. Thanks for your patience.
Cheers,
Louis

but first, Congratulations to you, Louis, for your impressive showing in the previous Challenge. The elegance of your work sets the bar high for all of us.

I had been thinking that, if I won, I would choose Food for this Challenge. So, I certainly do approve of your choice of theme!

Here's something to contemplate: the Competition rules seem to allow you to use non-Leica gear if you...well, here's the actual wording (note paragraph #2).

· The competition gallery:

o You may enter photos you took during the submission period using any camera, digital or analogue, made by Leica or on any camera with Leica lens. Please enter your name in the 'Artist' field of the image edit page but please don't add it to the title of the image.

o If you finished in the top three places in either gallery two times in any previous Leica challenges, you may enter photos in the competition gallery which you took during the submission period using any camera.

o Photos not taken during the submission period may not be entered in the competition gallery.

I've never tested this, but I was lucky enough to place in the top three in three previous Competition Galleries, so maybe I'll give it a try this time around. My little Fuji F30 is a lot less intrusive in restaurants than the V-Lux. Anyway, Paul, if paragraph #2 applies to you, maybe you should take advantage of it.

Phil

Phil, thank you very much!... I thought it was an appropriate subject for the holidays!... And of course, not too intellectual for once!...

I loved the shots you submitted in challenge 11; more especially the rings!

For now, I am struggling to set up the galleries! It is the first time and I am not used to it ... yet!...;-))

Best regards,

Louis

I think a moose has crept in and fiddled with the galleries.
you'd better put it right!

kind regards

Thanks to the help of our great friend Jono, galleries are finally working, and ready for entries.

Many thanks to Jono,

Louis

Just to have something in this gallery! I may change it by the end of the challenge.

Louis

My idea, as I put it, was anything "eatable"! By that, I meant humans!... What you are suggesting, catatc, is too broad, involving everything! This is not really the idea I had!
I didn't use the word "Human" because I thought it was clear!
Good luck,
Louis

Mike, you have very powerful entries. You are putting the bar very high for the rest of us!
Good job,
Louis

It's nice of you to say that Louis.
I'm not always a good judge of my own work, so thanks.
Mike

PS: When I first looked at your post I thought it said "you have very powerful enemies" gulp!
