I am interested in photographing nudes.Any recommendations for photography websites that allow nudes to be posted on the web.Of course, this would have to be a restricted members only gallery due to the personal nature of the pictures.

Yahoo Geocities and others allow this, but they are very unrelaible and the image sizes are low.

Try http://www.fredmiranda.com/ - there many nudes are posted varying amongst cute, glamour, girl next door, advertising, and maybe a bit more agressive. There are other sites but his is a good all-round photographer / camera site.

I am sure there are more "single minded" sites - but I don't know them....

If you want to post photos, and see others' photos (and give and get comments) then the photo sites:

photo.net
and

photosig.com

are both good - very valuable photographers ready to comment on anyone's images, and any image is allowed to be posted. I know at least that photosig.com has a 'rating' system. It allows a 'default' user to view only photos that are deemed 'rated G' up to 'rated R' - but cannot see 'rated x'. When you submit your photos you give it a rating (one of those three) and then as a member you can set your profile to show 'up to rated x' images.

This is a good way to allow people who don't mind seeing this type of image - see them, and allow others who might be offended to continue to see photos, without seeing something that might be offensive.

I think the do allow nude photos, with password protection.

It's such a pain finding forums/galleries that are 'liberal' enough (don't like that word - but it sems we're tainted by it).

Photo.net is actually pretty good on the nude form. One of those sites that isn't so hung up on such things. There are also the 'glamour' forums such as glamour1 - but I'd tread carefully there. One place to try is photocamel (www.photocamel.com) that has a thriving nude/glamour section (note: you need to register first then subscribe to the adult forums in your profile).

In the end, there are quite a few places that do nude/glamour work. DPR is definitely not one of them though as I'm sure you realize :).

allow nudes, but there is a way around this. You can have non-public galleries that require a private URL and password. These galleries do not even appear on your home page, but you can supply users with the correct URL and password, which will give them access. SmugMug will allow you to have nudes in these galleries, as long as you don't link to them directly.

It is a bit of a hassle, but they bill themselves as a "family-oriented" site, which a lot of kids use, so I can understand their point. On the plus side, though, they get a lot of traffic, and you can have a blurb on your home page saying something like "if you wish to view my model galleries, please email me for the password." I did that for a while but eventually took it off, because so many people were writing for the password that it was just too much work sending it out, without some sort of auto-response system.

As it stands now, I have my regular SmugMug URL and the nude model URLs on separate business cards, which I hand out as appropriate.

As others have posted, there are photo sharing sites with far more liberal policies than SmugMug, but these days I don't do enough nude work to make it worthwhile supporting a second photo site just for that. If I did, I wouldn't hesitate to use a site that specialized in fine art nudes.

That does sound like kind of a pain. Why bother if it is?

That's not uncommon for lots of sites that do nude/erotic. Photocamel has similar policies where you need to request access to the glamour section before you can view (actually pretty easy via to do via your user preferences). At least it means you don't suddenly see something you didn't expect when browsing the forum in 'work time'...;).

Open the link and then go to {Community Zoe Critique and Discussion Board} under the log in there is join this community. Hope this works.

you can also try fotocommunity.com
some nice images there but is that just a gallery? Does it have a discussion forum like photocamel? I went to the root of the site but my German wasn't good enough for me to navigate.
