You're not an American - you don't understand. I am, although I've been gone a very long time. Some people are genuinely offended by it, and where the line is is many percentages of gray.

My children were amazed at the language that offended their cousins in the bilble belt of the U.S.

Better to keep it extra clean than offend people just to use what in reality is just slang and isn't that important.

But you can always just use # (" and let everyone use their own imagination - that way it can cover everything from gosh to "#(). ;-)

We all understand what the language filter is designed for. There are ways around it of course, but the intent is to filter offensive language. Is it 100% fool proof, of course not.

If we use common sense and proper language, it should not be a concern around here. Some simply do not know how to converse without the use of offensive language and that is sad.

I find it "kinda" pathetic that a poster's vocabulary is so limited that he, or she, cannot express themselves adequately without resorting to four letter words.

As to the origin of the flush toilet, this URL will give you more information than you really wanted to know.

The photograph isolates and perpetuates a moment of time: an important and revealing moment, or an unimportant and meaningless one, depending upon the photographer's understanding of his subject and mastery of his process. -Edward Weston

nice but I think untrue. Other germanic languages have [with a vowel change] verbs with same root

German has 'ficken' with exactly the same meaning

Dutch has 'fokken' meaning to breed [animals]. There used to be a TV commercial for dogfood which had the following pay-off:

'topfokkers bevelen [brandname] aan' which translates as 'top breeders advise ...

The word cr*p comes from middle english well before Thomas Crapper it is similar to the Dutch word krappe

Thomas Crapper was a plumber by trade and manufactured various plumbing parts as well as manholes he also has a few patents for water closets. So you could say I'm going to the Crapper and be right.

The man who invented the Silent Valveless Water Waste Preventer was Albert Giblin who worked for Crapper, though Crapper has been credited with this.

Be creative then. It is easy enough to offend people using only allowed words, so no loss. :-)

A long time ago, somebody told me that the worst thing an Englishman can say is "bloody." Is that true and, if is so, why is it allowed here?
