"We don't allow that kind of language here"

Oh, you are must certainly free to be left alone. It is entirely your
choice. Just stop visiting places where they have rules such as
these. Btw, the site owners get to decide what they deem offensive.

Perhaps I should have used the word civility rather than
civilization. Would that have helped you in any way?

Dorus
A reply with condescension outweighed only by superciliousness! Certainly the site owners get to decide the rules and I have no quarrel with that. What I do object to are the self-appointed Defenders-of-Decency who believe civilization, what little is left of it, should be determined by mawkish 19th Century Victorian mores that have no relevance or basis in reality. It is because of these archaic repressionists that the site owners have filters in place and why we have censorship. I, for one, always do everything I can to offend prudes. Civility has nothing whatever to do with the usage of cr*p, the F-word, or any other word. It's how people respect and treat each other, not the language that's used.

Looking at the dismal state of mankinds behaviour, it is very relevant.

Anyone else see the contradictions here? But wait, there's actually more than just one!

That is amazing. Use swear words at people and still show respect.
Not thought through well.

When was the last time you had a conversation with anyone under 30?

After reading some of your posts, I'd be inclined to believe the avoidance is the other way around.

Wrong again, I am a strict, but very kind person for those who deserve it.

But this site is too sensitive.

I have been blocked when there was nothing offensive in the post.

Does that mean that you're not really offended, only you choose to be
because you have some principles from your Dad's time to keep up?

The world would be an interesting and very different place if people
trusted their real feelings rather than parrot views they've been
brought up with.
There's nothing wrong with adopting the good standards of decency that our parents taught us. I've done the same withmy children. Their free to make their choices once they are out on their own. The world would be a far better place if there were higher standards of decency than we now see people display in public.

Yes, it has everything to do with civility. The words are offensive, rude and inflaming.
It is not too much, to expect posters, to refrain from back alley vocabulary.

I think its Kinda pathetic that I can't use the word Cr*p here...
Do you have any idea how “pathetic” you sound?

I’d suggest broadening your vocabulary at least to the point that you’re not confined to the usage of slang when attempting to express yourself.

Hey, let's be nice. He/She posted that over a year ago. Maybe he/she has grown up since then.

The power of slang and swear words is undeniable .In the opening scene of" Patton " George C Scott gives one of the most powerful speeches of all time . In these forums such strong language, while powerful , does not encourage conversation and sharing.
Much as i like to swear, I must be careful myself.
