Looking for a remote-control release (without cable) for my D200. Should go up to at least 50 feet. Thanks.

The ML-3 is a great gadget that I use regularly - fits standard 10pin socket (front left of D200 but needs an MBD100 grip for D100).That's the only Nikon supplied option I can see. Unfortunately the
OP specified an operational distance of at least 50ft and the ML-3
specs say 26ft.
I would say he'll need to go with a radio transmitter.
$165+tax+shipping... that is such a CHEEEAAAP solution for wireless
shutter release!![]()
A timer will not provide the same functionality as a true remote release. How do you know if the subject will be in position at 20 sec, 10 sec, 5 sec, etc? Try shooting macro or wildlife with a set timer and see what happens.I'm sticking with my 20sec timer... is that enough to run 50 ft?
As others have said, 50 feet is probably too far for an IR based remote release. You will probably need a radio cable release.Looking for a remote-control release (without cable) for my D200.
