Hi all,
Posting here and in accessories forum. just for info
Had a weekend shoot at music festival. Using A1 on a monopod to shoot crowds and the high stage. Used the Sony remote control RMT-P1BT, the bluetooth controller.
Had issues with this bluetooth controller probably due to the metal stage and also electromagnetic field from the huge speakers. Sometimes worked, sometimes didnt trigger, sometimes fired multiple shots and to stop it had to switch camera off and take out the battery. Their manual did say there maybe problems under this situation. Bluetooth also drained my sony, changed batteries twice in the camera for 10 hrs shooting.
I looked into InfraRed control, but as using a monopod there was no line of sight to the sensor so probably not useful.
After this event i bought SMDV RFN4- 913 remote control a Korean brand which i have used for nikon and my fujifilm.

I like this as small, has coiled cable. can be used wireless or wired. Seems secured by Sony A1 cable protector. Not too expensive. I would add gaffer tape to protect the cable and controller as much as possible. The lanyard i got separately from an old trigger but easy to attach, compared to those fiddly eyelets. 16 channels as well. I believe the wired trigger can work without its own battery.
I think those with the Vello plus trigger on B&H will also work well, but a bit more bulky and cable cannot coil.
Hope this thread helps others when needing trigger for say events.
