....maybe a Paxette? Back in the late 60s. Anyway, it took square pictures. Then it was upmarket to a Zenith B and a separate lightmeter. It cost me £25 in 1971. And I still have it today. I keep meaning to load it with film and keep it in the car for that once in a lifetime UFO shot knowing that alien technology won't be able to stop it from working.
After that came a Chinon CP7, followed by a Pentax SFX. Still got them as well. I also acquired over the years miscellaneous compact cameras, the more notable of which are Olympus XA, XA3 and XA4. This year I started dabbling with film again. I got a Fuji 6x9 120 roll film and I've put about 30 rolls through it. It's hard work. I also picked up off Ebay an Olympus OM1 and OM2, and the compact Trip 35 which have all had a few rolls this past summer.
My first digital camera was a Casio 7000SX in 1998. It was £640 for a 1.3mp camera. When it broke under warranty they replaced it with the 2000 but I always missed it and this weekend I picked one up on Ebay for a few quid. I also got a Casio QV100, which, I think, was their second camera, after the QV10. No memory card, a screen so slow you could draw quicker, and no megapixels - just pixels. I'll get a QV10 soon.
