FF vs. DX is Like Automatic vs. Stick

I am an artist, not a consultant or strategist. If you talk to a
counselor, he will tell you that no artist likes to paint with
brushes that have had the bristles reduced to little nubbs.

Sorry, but this is the real deal.
But a true artist will use many brush sizes to work his or her canvas - they will not restrict themselves to one brush, just because they have a love for one particular size of brush.

cropped sensors and sensors in general have been around for a
while. also technology advances much faster now that in the 1930s.
at the end of the day it's choices. if you don't like the car
analogy, pick MAC vs. PC, or pick Turkey vs. Chicken, etc., etc.

Don't like it? Don't buy it. Period!

Next topic?

Once again, all I can say is ...

... a troll, is a troll, is a troll.

Will the day ever come when this ridiculous subject/argument is never heard from again? Hmm, perhaps when the day of the troll ends, and that won't happen any time soon.

i was saying that even with fair market prices i'd still need an extra 3K to cover the costs of completely switching. by completely switching i mean replacing all my gear with canon equivalents. im better off buying a 5D and 16-40 lens; primarily because i would never give up my F5 for anything canon offers.

how is anything ive said been even remotely close to trolling? is it because you dont agree with my position? i never made this about canon vs. nikon or claimed one system was better than the other. if anything your comment, given that it lacks substance, could be considered trolling. if you disagree great, if you agree great, i'm not trying to convince you one way or the other. at the end of the day ill never knock someone for their belief even if its contrary to mine.

Roman-

How about I don't talk to you and you don't talk to me. We can just agree to disagree for eternity.

but Roman, I hope that while you are at Yosemite, a bear destroys your gear. I'm just so sick of your cr*p.

but you know what Paul, to be honest you've been just as bad. i certainly don't wish Roman harm, just his gear.

to justify your behavior we could just say im the Devil him self...

Ill now gonna make your wish come true, and try not to respond to your wonderful contributive posts here.

You have a great day now. (know i will)

"automatic VS. Shift" is just like saying "My Grandma cooks better cakes then Nike's shoes". Just about the same logic.

Ii just can't see the supposedly "obvious" link.

I stand by my comments. This subject has been discussed over and over and over and over and over again. It's very purpose is to ire others, not to inform, not to help, not to assist, not to educate, and certainly not to justify one position over another. PERIOD!

Enjoy your day.

Next time, read the 10,000 threads on this subject, make up your own mind if FF is necessary ... and then, no offense ... SHUT UP!

--You do have a choice; Nikon or Canon. Personally, I see the crop factor as a big plus. For those that prefer wide angle there is DX.

I suspect that many FF advocates will be disappointed when they finally get one. Look at the MTF curves on all lenses. The performance at 0 to 12MM is so much better than 12 to 18MM.

Please note that this does not deal with edge issues, but is more concerned with pixel density, FOV and noise issues.

It also uses Canon cameras as a reference, for the very obvious reason that that is the one which currently uses a variety of sensor sizes, but the reasoning should be more universally applicable.

Hope some of you find this interesting - I certainly did.
