That's where Nikon needs to get with the program. The 5D is only $3300. The next generation Canon 1-series FF body is probably going to be not much more than the price of an APS D2X.All estimates are FF is 10x the cost of APS and the sensor is by
far the most expensive component in the system. In PC's only the
status seekers and the very few with a legitimate reason would
spend 2000 on a CPU. Last year an interview, translated by a forum
member, with a Nikon exec suggested at that time FF was possible
but for $10,000.
Anyone who would put an aftermarket transmission in a Ferrari should not be given a driver's license.I'm a FF proponent, want FF, don't want DX.....Even in cars that don't > offer an automatic option can have one put in after-market (the > Lamborghini and Ferrari come to mind). With the Nikon stance on DSLRs > our choice is clear, DX or DX, unless you want to switch.

Currently refusing to upgrade until Nikon gives me FF.
Cute. "Full Frame", in the context of Canon and Nikon DSLR bodies, refers to "full frame 35mm" or "36 x 24mm full frame".What is "Full Frame"? To me my Deerdorf 8x10 is "Full Frame" I want
all of my cameras to have an 8x10 inch sensor...it just makes sense
to me! Nikon is not giving me the option I want. I am going on
strike until Nikon comes out with an 8x10 sensor!
I think I am going to puke.
[snip]As a consumer i'm irritated that I don't have the option. The
issue at hand isn't if FF is better than DX or if Nikon is better
than Canon. The issue should be about choice. I hope that whether
its right there, at the end of ur postDon't you think that your analogy... but very much technology in the
R&D stage
No sh^t! Now I get it. Thanks for making the concept clear.....but why would anyone care about a little tiny full frame like that???Cute. "Full Frame", in the context of Canon and Nikon DSLR bodies,

It's because it's the largest frame size that your Nikon 35mm lenses will support on a Nikon SLR body.No sh^t! Now I get it. Thanks for making the concept clear.....butCute. "Full Frame", in the context of Canon and Nikon DSLR bodies,

where is the question mark in Adams reply ? Im sure Adam is happy that you got his back, Still belive he is able to speak for him self though. Why do you expect an answer, when you don't give one yourself.![]()
for the first time I see a topic on FF vs DX which truly makes sense.
I love DX but apparently Adam doesn't,...and I do agree with him,
we should have a choice (I might even buy a FF next to my DX)
If you don't have a point please move on.
If you are curious about someone's wife you'd better move on to
your nearest supermarket...there will be loads of them. ;-)
Placing a smiley in each sentence with an attitude, doesn't make up
for it. (or did it work?)
I've never started a thread on FF. I've commented on it in other
threads. I thought my point was clear in the initial post: having
read through all of the posts this week I think people are debating
the wrong thing. it isnt canon vs. nikon or FF vs. DX (in terms of
which is better), it's about options. if my passion for the
situation bothers your, I would encourage you to:
A: not read the posts
B: no respond
