>>>CHALLENGE 38: INANIMATE OBJECTS Official Thread<<<

........in the eligible gallery that need to be moved to exhibition. At least 2 are outside the challenge dates, and one has no date at all and no camera info.
Could the host please attend to this before the voting booth opens?

Cheers,

Gayle

this new policy of finding out at the end about the winner blows. A large part (for me) of the fun of these challenges is the horse-race during the voting. Besides, the times I have won, it was nice having a few days to think up a new challenge theme.

It was out of the challenge date range.

Please, somebody move it out of the elegible voting booth and place it in the Exhibition.
Thanks

Worthy as this experiment was, I also don't like it as much. Usually prior to the end of a challenge voting period, I contact the likely winner(s) to help them set things up for a new challenge.

No way of knowing who to email now. Bummer.

Also potential winner has no time to think of a new topic.

Are they the time I and Time II ?
for some reason Adbode did not save the EXIF and I only noticed it after upload.
Ayway to "insert" the exif info at this time ?
They were taken with a Canon 20D and a Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro lens.

Must agree that it is def. tough to do without being able to see the results...will be interesting however to see how the voting changes!

Perhaps, if we do decide to keep this rule going, we should give the winner "setup time" rather than try to shuffle them through really quickly...

Leave your feedback here!!!!
I know that we are more people who feels the same way. Lonnit for sure, to mention one. Where are you all? How about writing down your opinion on this, while we wait for the ressults? It really is a drag to wait for 48 hours with no feedback whatsoever! Excitement and momentum are lost, IMO.

I've been AWOL for a while, working on some "real" photography which is hopefully going to start paying some money very soon, so I've not submitted any pics for a while.

I have been watching all the discussions though.

Any new system is going to get its critics - the booth wasn't initially popular if you recall, but now the thought of going back to thread-voting wouldn't be well received either.

However, the level of vocal opposition now its been implemented is quite telling - and it is more valuable as feedback than just soliciting opinions to an idea - people are just more likely ot respond once they've seen something in action than they are to an vague notion.

I, for one, did like to see the progress during the voting (if only to see that once again I didn't get any votes!), but others have raised sensible points, such as not being able to "prepare" the likely winner.

The fact that Jack has offered to reinstante the previous version means it's presumably not too much work for him, and I think it needs serious consideration.

If I had to make a choice, I'd say let's go back to the previous way (and I say this understanding 100% why it was changed).
