Let's all put a face to our posts...

Look for it on Ebay search for "Helios 85" Make sure you get the ones for M42 screw mount. I bought mine for $69. Here are two on > Ebay right now, looks like they are in good shape:

Then i paid $30-$50 for two different adapters, reco go with the expensive one with a Multicoated lens, otherwise you can't focus to infinity!

Here is one on Ebay (Note this one does NOT have the multicoated corectional lens, but i bought it from the same guy that listed this one I'm sure he can find it):

Note that you need a Professional Nikon Bopdy to be able to meter through the lens, D70 and D100 can't handle it. You have to try shooting a picture and look afterwards what meetering result you got. Note that this lens is very manual but you can get metering with the D2H, D1x etc through the lens.

This lens is made from an old Zeiss design I guess the Russians "borrowed" (?) the design after WW2.

This lens goes from no depth of field at all almost to incredibly sharp. But it is a bit of a pain to use it sometimes since you dont have a readout of F stop you have to look at it But i love this lens

Here are a few examples of what it can do:

Obscure and menacing, or just bad exposure?

I think it would be neat to be able to put a face behind the
posters on this board... I feel like I know some of the posters
here because I read the board nearly every day and have picked up
on sense of humor and temperament...

I'm always curious what people look like....

I'll start.. Here's me with my baby boy...

You got it 100%. I love this set-up when shooting from a tripod. For monopod shooting I use this:

This uses the same Wimberley Sidekick and a light weight Bogen / Manfrotto 3232 swivel head.

Marathon. I'm trying to get fast again. I lost a little bit when we had our two children, finding time to run more finally.

Man, where do you live; near the north pole? You've been sending icy images for weeks now. We just got down to 21 degrees (F) in the Washington D.C. area.

The wife and I will be vacationing in Canada in late May. Where in Canada do you live? Quebec?
