A very minor difference with metering (especially flash metering) you will probably never notice it.

The D100 is pretty crippled if you don't use D or G lenses. No TTL metering at all. (No Autofocus either, but that's not a bad as no metering, in my opinion). Not sure about TTL flash, but I doubt it.

I think you are confusing D with AF Nikor lenses. I hae 2 AF lenses that are not "D" lenses and they meter perfectly too ...

The "D" stands for distance metering (mostly for flash purposes).

It makes very little difference to use one or not but non-AF lenses are no metering at all ...

With D/G/DX lenses, you get full functionality.

With other lenses, you start losing features and abilities with metering and autofocusing. And that is dependent on each lens.
