No shipping notice, no tracking number, it just arrived at my door this afternoon! Got a great deal with that Facebook discount too. Will post photos later, haven't even played around with it yet! But you guys who also ordered should start checking!

If you have time, could you please share the PDF of the user manual?

I can start reading while I wait for my G3 to come.... thanks!

As you can see, I haven't even attached the lens yet, but here's a couple of quick photos just to make sure nobody calls BS (I'm sure there would be somebody). Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to have time until tomorrow to actually take any photos with it. :-( I have to say, though, the WHITE looks great! It reminds me of a product Apple would make, though obviously plastic to the touch.

I like the white but I want body only so its blackor nuthin'. Have great funl. Can't wait to hear your "review".

Diane
Yes, I wish I could have gotten the white as body-only since I already have a collection of lenses. But at $524 (plus tax) from Panasonic Direct, it was something I couldn't pass up!

I will definitely do some initial impressions and a review later, though I don't think there's going to be a whole lot to tell. Before even taking my first picture, I could probably sum it up by saying "... it's a lot like my GH2 with fewer buttons, slightly fewer video options, and slightly better high ISO quality." Of course, that's a generalization, but this is basically going to replace my GH1 as a second body.

I took a couple of quick photos in RAW and Lightroom 3 (up to date) would not import them. It says this camera was not supported. I hadn't expected that, as I imagined it would be supported along with my other Panasonic cameras. But with a new sensor, I guess I'll have to wait for an update from Adobe to shoot in RAW. I have desire to install the included software, as I use Lightroom exclusively for my workflow.

Now I wonder how long it'll take for Adobe to release an update for it? I'll have to do some digging to see if they are currently slated to release an update for it.

I think with the new 16mp sensor, new processing engine Adobe would have to do new profiles. Soon I hope since if yours shipped others shouldn't be too far behind--mine included LOL.

I'm surprised we haven't seen more reports of cameras received but maybe tomorrow.

Just edit the raw file and put in a model number that Lightroom will support and it will import them. There is even a add-in that will change the info automatically on import.

Why that's damn purdy!

I like that they put all the HD video advertising BS on the back AND got rid of the hideously ugly/idiotic golden "L" logo that pollutes the front of GH2!

Nice!

So, what lenses are you putting on that puppy?

Very nice. My only reservation is that every white appliance etc. I have ever bought was turned an ugly yellow. I really can't bring myself to buy white things anymore.

The tracking notification is just for that.....the ability to track the shipment of purchased (and sometimes expensive) items

An aside...I'm glad I did not buy white. Too noticeable (so much for stealth mode photography).....but great for all the fashionistas out there!

i'm confused, how did you get it for $524?

edit: ah, didn't see that, facebook discount.

Download Adobe's free DNG converter program, convert raw to DNG's, open DNG's in LR.

Well, I also have the GH2 and normally have the 14-140 on that camera. So the G3 will probably have most of my primes (20/1.7, 24/2.5, and 45/2.8) and I may use the kit lens once in a while as well. I'm salivating over the 25/1.4 that's coming out though, so that may be the one to keep on this camera, though the pancake is much more portable.

By the time it turns yellow, I'll probably be on to something else! ;-) Of course, that's assuming it won't turn yellow overnight! lol
