Assuming they haven't changed supplier, they are branded Fameart. I have a couple for my D30 and they work fine.

I wouldn't say cheaply made. The plastic casing is so nearly the same as the Canon ones as to make no difference. Labels apart the only physical difference I can see is that the "insert this way" arrow is slightly more pronounced than on the Canon ones.

I use them and find them OK they last as long if not longer then the Canon originals, appearance wise they look identical to the originals (apart from the Canon labels). Mine was manufactured by a company called Fameart

It's worth doing a search on the subject, there are plenty of reports from people using different 3rd party batteries. The only problem I've heard of is that some of them are a very tight fit in the D60 body (but not the D30 or the BG-ED3 grip). Some take a bit longer to charge too, apparently, but I've not heard anyone complaining about anything serious.

For £18 against £55 for the Canon part, I personally couldn't care less if it does look a bit cheap. If it lasts for even half as long as a Canon battery then it's still a bargain.

Suffice to say, I ordered two of the 7dayshop batteries this afternoon :-)

Andy.

I have two of these, both branded Fameart, look just like the Canon, charge just like the Canon, last just as long as the Canon.

They have my vote!

I got a second battery from the local camera shop, a German hahnel 1300ma for £39, damn superb it is too, but I'm going after the grip in the not too distant future (at £148 it's a lot cheaper than the E10s Ripoff LiPo and a lot more functional) and a couple of cheapies wouldn't go amiss - how much?

Also while we're on the subject of batteries, after reading the manual, it states that the batteries aren't totally charged when the light stops flashing and it's wise to leave them another hour to fully top up.. have you or anyone else found this to be an advantage? -

You just gotta love LiIon batts, whatever the arguments said on these forums, NiMh CAN suffer a degree of memory effect and spares can go flat in the kit bag - If these LiIons are anything like the non-rechargeable versions, they will stay charged almost indefinately :))

Just got off the phone with 7dayshop. Despite their email stating that new stock is due 'very soon', they have absolutely no idea when stock will actually arrive.

Furthermore, they've charged me for express delivery on the pack of AA cells that I ordered at the same time, despite not letting me know that the BP511s were out of stock until an hour after the AA cells had been posted. They won't refund this. I'm furious.

Needless to say I've cancelled the order for the BP511s and ordered some from http://www.gmkbatteries.co.uk instead. It's not the first time 7dayshop have messed me about, but it will be the last.

Andy.
More stock expected 'soon', and their phone's engaged :

I ordered last night. I hope they manage to get supplies quickly since they do tend to take their time delivering anyway - so even longer... Drat!

£18 for a D60 battery!, that's HALF what everywhere else is charging

and thanks for the grip-link too! - though the difference between them and Jessops could be eaten up in carriage- I'll try Pricematching with them ;-)

Don't mention the grip on Oly-SLR ;-) - a more functional grip which takes standard camcorder batteries for £470 less than the LiPo AND you don't have to pay £300 for a spare battery!.. But then what do you expect from a company which charges £20 for a £6 Kodak USB lead, that's Olympus for ya :(

I gave up on 7dayshop (for various reasons) and ordered two Uniross BP511 clones from GMK Batteries. They shipped the same day and work fine, and they're still half the price of the Canon originals.

It's really too bad that after buying your D60, you are so broke and desperate that you need to buy generic accessories (lenses, batts) for your new cam LCD.

And this, after you were on the Oly forum accusing people of being too poverty-stricken to upgrade.
Rather pathetic, would'nt you say?
