Hey. so I always had my z6ii and z7ii setup identical. I have a z6iii now and two things are quite different and I cant find/ figure out/ how to make them the same.

1) When scrolling through the Menu, the z7ii jumps to the top of the next page when you hit the bottom, whereas the z6iii just keeps going down, one row at a time. I want the z7 version as it seems much faster to see the next page rather than one new item.

2) Ive noticed that the z6iii menu items on the left are different order: Photo shoot is on top whereas the z7ii has Playback on the top.

Not big deals, but maybe there is a way of making them the same?

I believe the answer on both is - no.

Pretty sure these changes came in with the Z9 and have trickled to the other recent models.

Oh, that's why I've been using the 4-way controller to scroll the menu, instead of using a touch screen flick to go through the menu items. I rarely used the 4-way on the Z6 menus.

It's really obvious in the long lists of Custom Settings menu items.

On my Z6, an upward touch"flick" gesture moves one full screen at a time. On the Z6 iii, it scrolls a random number of rows, depending on my finger gesture. It's too easy to scroll 3 or 4 more rows than one full screen, missing a few settings that way.

Testing now, it appears the technique should be to smoothly "drag" all the way from the bottom to the top, instead of a short "flick" touch. The item near the bottom of the screen lights up yellow as I touch and drag it up, so I don't lose my place. Not quite as fast as a flick full page, but easier to keep the items I want on the screen.

I do like that I can scroll just far enough to show a group of related setting items on the screen at the same time. On the Z6, they are sometimes split between full pages. There's a lot more setting rows on the Z6 iii !

Interesting. I have never used the touchscreen for much, using the thumb pad instead. I'll have to investigate that, but I know I dont like fingerprints much on the screen!

I noticed that from my Z7 which scrolled a full page when I flicked the screen, to my Z8 the screen scrolls line-by-line, and the faster the flick the more lines scroll. I prefer the latter.

However, I seldom remember to use this feature; I almost lawns use the up/down/left/right control.
