Hi Hreinn,

Nice images. This one is our favourite - an absolute Christmas scene classic.

Hi Patlezinc,

What a breathtaking scene - I'd imagine being there to actually witness it was quite a sight.

Hi DuckShots,

A striking capture - there's so much character in this shot. (We trust Roberta was impressed).

Hi Chris,

A terrific composition showcasing this amazing structure. I must get up and pay it a visit.

Another stacked ornament. Having fun with the 85 f/2.

Hi JustUs7,

A captivating image. (I really must knuckle down and have a go at at this stacking technique).

I haven't been able to get my R5 yet, so I went out to shoot birds with the 7D2 this afternoon, and took the RP along with my original EF 24-105 f4 L just in case I was still there at sunset. The sunset was not real dramatic, so I made a few adjustments in Lightroom to give it a bit more punch and saturation. Got a couple of nice Bald Eagle shots from a bit of a distance, but I have a feeling that the R5 is going to really help with those shots, once I finally get it. For now, here's the Sunset at the wetlands tonight with the RP.

My life is a circle of confusion - photography is my meditation.

Pretty amazing high ISO performance. Didn't even use any noise reduction. The dog was in my lap, I focused using the touch screen while holding the camera with my right hand. IS works really, really well on this lens.

And another one. 27 images. I think the total DOF ended up around an inch. F2, 1/10 second, iso 100. Cut down on the artificial light except the tree light and one lamp to set off the ornament. Less rolling shutter this time. A bit challenging on the software I think due to the overall smoother surface. A bit soft in spots maybe.

Thanks! This one was 25 images. Razor thin DOF. I think we might be on to what the 1 - 10 options are on the automatic bracketing. The camera calculates DOF based on settings and then maybe the 1 - 10 is the % overlap. With 1 being the most overlap (maybe 90%?) and 10 being almost no overlap. So with a 0.1 inch DOF (app calculated), I’m doing 0.04” x 25 here for an inch total. That’s my best guess anyway.

Hi JustUs7,

Thanks for the extra details (now I remember why I haven't got round to trying this yet!).

:-D

I always thought the first shots with a new camera were supposed to be of a cat or dog. Great shots. I especially like the one of the pond.
