X S1 review with samples and orbs

Unbelievable :)
Thats another off my list.

Without doubt, thet is one of the worst pics I have ever seen. I was about to pull the trigger and get the x-s1.

Iphone 4s would do a better job than that - SHOCKING !!!!!

This is a joke right? How is this possible with an $800 camera???

Simple - They're Greedy Maggots .....

they decided to market the camera in full knowing that the sensor had hardware issues as proven in the X10 so only greed could account for it . any self-respecting manufacturer would have pulled them while they still had the chance and re-marketed when the sensors were replaced with a non-orbital one ..

heck a DECENT manufacturer would have replaced the damn sensors in existing X10 units ASAP (or promised to when fixed sensors came about) - Sony did this in the millions when their defective sensors were failing in OUT OF WARRANTY cameras ! and not just cameras made by Sony . I'd not trust Fuji one iota after this debacle.

This review was mentioned here last year, why is it being brought up again this year?

This Neocamera review was posted on 1/27/12, you are probably referring to the older Russian review from the end of last year, and which had similarly catastrophic orb results, so it's easy to mix the two.

I like the pictures I see here!!!

Especialy the pictures from the exhibition!!! Lovely!

And the orb's! I don't mind!!! I don't do noghtshots very often and I am not a pixel peeper, so I even like the nightshots!!!

I think nearly every camera today has some bug's! And there always are people that hype this bug!I only want to shoot nice picture, and the pictures I can see in the russian review are very nice for my eyes!!!

For me more important is the usability in daily use and the picture quality and speed!!

Just my 2 cent

ok you dont mind the orbs. What about the distortion of the leaning buildings?
This camera will make the Leaning Tower of Piza topple over!

I agree. After 11 Fuji digital cameras I have owned, I am disappointed in the attitude company is displaying recently regarding faults in their new products. X10 with orbital sensor can pass as a honest mistake (although unlikely), XS-1 released well after, and with the same fault uncorrected, falls into a "Greedy Maggot" category.

shooting wide requires a bit more thought.....relying on camera processing might not be the best solution.
I can shoot just as 'good' a distortion with a 'better' (aka dslr) combination.

The leaning buildings are not a camera fault. It's what happens when you don't know how to use a wide-angle lens, and don't keep it horizontal.

Good point.
Minus the orbs, I still liked the sample image.
Luckily, software can fix the keystone effect.

If that shot was taken with the X10 you would have jumped in rubbished it within 3 threads because you had 4 and they were all rubbish Blah...Blah...Blah.

So now you have the XS-1 you seem to accept it's dodgy IQ (even though it's the same sensor)

I suppose next week when you have sent 3 back you will be on here telling us all what a load of junk it is and hijacking all the XS-1 threads like you did with the X10.

Can't wait.....

Well, as you should know by now, according to Alan's testing, the X-S1 is not exactly a speedy camera.

Paul, its time to put your mouth where your money is and post some night shots with street and pedestrian lighting in them :-)

Its only a matter of time before someone else in the UK posts these shots before you, the camera is freely available now but you still have the momentum, now is the moment. :-)

Surely you have taken the camera out and about at night by now, are you stalling or are you building up some dramatic tension on the forum? :-)

How do you know?
Is iit the same spaculations as earlier?

The "rat" expect everyone to buy, both yells and hails of the X-100......I have never got friends with rats.....:-(

PS! Do you remeber your claims of the "fault" of the X-100 lens....and the fingerprints on your own frontglass on the OVF.....on your own camera?
