Working on getting SC-P600 working

Try some regular photos/images between nozzle checks and cleanings.

Petruska knows more but you hopefully have eliminated an issue with an ink delivery line or damper. It wouldn't hurt to inspect the applicable dampers.

BTW: What does the maintenance tank look like after so many cleanings?
You can’t see the dampers easily.

no maintenace tank on P600

I haven‘t wanted to take a screwdriver to the p600 which I believe is required in order to check the dampers. I‘m good at almost putting things back together correctly ;-)

I did start getting this on start up which looks worrying:

You can Reset that with Epson Adjustment Program. I reset my R3000 3-4 years ago and the pads haven’t overflowed yet. You can easily fit an external waste ink reservoir if you wish.

Thanks Bob. I’ll definitely need to do this and empty the existing waste tank.

Just realized that ink has been seeping down the back of my desk in to the floor :(

My wife officially hates printers now.

There is no existing waste ink tank. The waste ink is held in absorbent pads at the bottom of the printer. Very dufficult to get to. The best thing is to add the external tank now as that wiill capture the ink from cleanings. Then the normal ink pads will dry out if you don’t print borderless then the orginal pads won’t be seeing much excess ink at all. Mop up the left side ink buildup of the printer sponge area with paper towels.

…and I am still waiting for it to arrive.

So printer still officially in rehab. Consistent nozzle check pattern being run every day. Travel next week so nozzle check pattern might go on hold for 5 days.

Finally back to printing after fitting the Printer Potty today.

Thanks Bob (@Petruska) for all the help.

It’s been a while since I tried some calibrated prints.

Here’s one of my first efforts with Hahnemuhle FineArt Smooth PhotoRag. It’s ok but does look a bit too washed out.

Very pleased since this looks a good point to now move forward and improve from.

What a journey - learnt a lot!

👍👍👍
