Wireless Printer Connection Issues

Have you tried reserving the ip address of the printer. This can be done in many wifi router software packages.
haven't bothered with trying that yet. I only see the problem a couple times a year, so I haven't spent much time trying to find a way to prevent it from happening again. I have thought about doing what you say though, just never got around to looking into how to do it with my main router.

What brand of router?

I know Linksys router software can do this under DHCP reservations. The process is fairly automatic and simple to do. On the other hand, my satellite modem/wifi router cannot assign a permanent ip address.

Assigning a permanent ip address to specific devices (really their unique MAC address) solves a lot of problems caused by devices (mostly printers in my experience) suddenly deciding to change their ip address without warning.
