Why all the m43 users HATE towards Panasonic?

The m43 forums are a strange place. Half the threads debate m43 Vs FF as nauseum. The rest are mainly about the worries of the future of the system.

I have to agree with this statement.

Comparing M4/3 Forum to Sony FF Forum, another one I visit often, I should say that Sony forum is a more peaceful place. There is simply not so much insecurity and jealousy there.

This is exactly my point.

I have been in same user forums over the years and no other camera forum has so much infighting, bickering and outright hostility to outside ideas or even questions from their own members. But enough of that....


I would venture a guess why there is so much animosity towards Pana now and it has to do with the L-Mount alliance: Panasonic is most likely going to be the one developing the majority of the tech used in the cameras as that was their part in the mFT consortium.


The role of Olympus is then divided by both Sigma and Leica where one brings "the brand" and lenses and the other mostly the lenses and the price point down.


THIS is why I think Panasonic has a great shot to being in the Top2 here.


Just one thing: lose the DFD Pana. Please. It did not work on GH5 very well and I am concerned how it will work here.

I understand it from Canon users.

I understand it from Nikon users.

I understand it from Sony users.

All of them are fighting for Canons crown as top camera maker.

But m43 users seem to be the most vitriolic of the bunch against the new Panas.

Panasonic had to evolve from M43 and the smartest decision for them was to go FF (since they have a partnership with Leica). But Olympus is fine and dandy making PEN-Fs, EM1s and that new big one.

I for one welcome the path Panasonic is taking and giving us a system that finally competes IQ wise with the big boys.
