Who uses curves?

This good thread wouldnt have started without my question. I learn
more from asking specific questions, and Im in the process of reading
books...can I do both?
Sure you can! Learn it! Read about it.
But everytime you reply here you put up your personal website
links at the bottom which makes me think troll.

Would anybody recommend using both curve and level together ???

I have been using it but not sure if it is one of the sins in PS 7 ?

Thanks ...
Levels is a basic fundamental editing tool in Pshop. Learn this and
you'll get a good idea of how "Curves" works later on.

=====================
I am just starting to get into curves, and I think it has incredible
potential! First off, I was just wondering who uses curves as a pp
staple.
Second, I was wondering if you guys could share where you learned
about or how you learned about using curves. Im trying to find an
easy to understand book, or article, that can get me into curves, and
beyond the basics. I really want to learn how to do this right.
Any help, or opinion is greatly appreciated!

In Lab mode you can adjust color while keeping luminosity unchanged. Search for a tutorial on using it, otherwise your results will be a mess.

I use curves all the time, following Scott Kelby's simple techniques as taught in "The Photoshop CS3 Book For Digital Photographers" and his "Seven Point System..." His explanations and examples are fantastic and easy to follow, and they work on 95% of any photo that needs touching up.

You can put them back, there's nothing wrogn with your signature.

People know who the real troll here is: "WBirch" aka "Shifter" aka "Drebeler".

Someone who can insult people over and over again, yet still complain about someone else's "obvious antagonism".

I may add more links to mine, just as a tribute to Wayne Birch...

thanks! i was kind of shocked being criticized as a troll...im a newbie, so I just have a lot of questions...thats all.

To claim that a link to a webpage in a signature is trolling is pretty silly. Especially considering that DPReview provides space for a link in personal profiles.

It appears that DPReview isn’t concerned and actually, in a manner, encourages it by providing the capability.

Of course it is. We all know you're not a troll. You're actually a victim of a troll. "WBirch" aka "Shifter" aka "Drebeler" is the one real and true troll in this thread, and the one who's being silly.

I think one should feel honored to be called a troll by a troll, just like one should feel good to be called a liar by a liar.
