Hello everyone,

I have a beautiful new Hexanon legacy lens on the way, and rather than adapting the mount to 4/3rds (which I've done in the past) I'm looking forward to leaving it in tact, and using an adapter to m4/3rds instead.

Can anyone recommend a good adapter?

TIA

Brian

Hey,

I have the RainbowImaging adapter, titled with the "Fotasy" label, and it used to work great. I no longer use it because I sold my 50/1.7 after purchasing the 45/1.8.
Enjoy your new lens!

I'm a bit worried about the lens twisting off... did your adapter have a 'click stop' for the lens, and lock onto the camera mount OK?
Enjoy your new lens!
Thank you Assaf, I hope to!

Yep, the RainbowImaging Konica AR mount to μ43 adapter does indeed lock into place.

Yes, it has a 'click stop' and it locks the lens.
Enjoy your new lens!
Thank you Assaf, I hope to!

Sounds like a nice lens.

I use Rainbow Imaging and Fotodiox adaptors and all are quite good. The Rainbows are a bit cheaper. My adaptors are M42 screwmount, Leica L39 screw and M mounts, Nikon F, and Olympus OM.

one worth avoiding
I have a Fotga Konica M43 adapter and it sucks

It fits the camera mount ok

But a lens spins around not positively locking the lens for a few complete turns until it finally settles and locks, and for some reason removal is just the same. It feels safe when its locked, just not especially good if you want to swap Konica lenses.

so avoid this one!

I think there are 2 'economic' strategies (code for cheap!)
buy a cheapish adapter for every lens
or buy a good adapter for all your Konica lenses

not sure I picked the right one ;)

Another "Fotasy" from Rainbow Imaging. Works great with the Canon FD 50mm f3.5 Macro as well as the Hexanon.. It's really a simple piece, if properly made.

I'm really enjoying 1:1 macro with the Canon FD....Whole setup was less than $65.00

A Fotodiox here on a 57/1.4 ... Hasn't come off the GH2 much in the past few weeks ... Clicks to stop ... infinity focus is just prior to infinity. :-| ... No other complaints.

(we've had a lot of Hexanon action around here lately ... will have to have a Hexanon photo thread in the next week or so..)
