Which "inexpensive" lenses are you using?

I am the prince of a small country. I routinely shoot with my arsenal of huge whites including the 600/4 and 1200/5.6 (I have three, custom made for me, one in black, one in white and another in camouflage). They are all cheap. It's pocket change for me, and if I'm short, I threaten papa to spray his Rolls Royces with petrol and set fire to 'em :)
Hi,
I wanted to just poll the community on any "inexpensive lenses"
(
results out of.
i.e. such as the 50mm 1.8
i.e. the Tokina 24mm-200mm
etc.
I'm thinking about buying the Tokina, but wanted to know if anyone
else had any other luck with descent "inexpensive" lenses (mostly
third party).

Thanks,
Dan

Now I understand why papa threw you out of the country, so that you have to live in the USA. :-)

Could possibly be the best optics for under 400.00. I bought it for indoor sports, unfortunately it is a little slow to focus. I could not afford the 1100.00 for the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 USM.

Is NONE a viable answer? It seems you are looking for a great glass at a great price. But it may be worthwhile to hear that many of us are not using anything on that end.

I am not saying that to be snooty like "I only use L glass" but to point out that many people do find the more expensive lenses are better and worth the money.

That said, I do use one - and only one - in this range, the Canon 50mm f/1.4. Which I rate 5 stars for the money it costs.
