What do you need from Canon?!

is to eliminate the sensor dust problem. I, as I'm sure many others are, am tired of seeing dust spots on my 1Ds images and equally tired of having to clean the sensor almost after every lens swap. I would like to be able to make multiple lens changes while in the fieldv but the dirty sensor issue almost prohibits it.

I mean, come on Canon, if they can put a man on the moon..........how difficult can it be?

I'm thinking what else do I need from Canon. I'm a happy owner of
Mark II and a few L lenses. Most likely I'll purchase new ETTLII
SpeedLite 580. That's it. BUT, do I need anything else? What about
you folks? What do you need from Canon to develop and market?

I want the following lenses:

200-400 f/4 DO IS $2500
24-120 f/4L IS $2000
70-200 f/4L IS $1000
1.7x TC

USM upgrades for all the old lenses, and an IS upgrade for the 300 f/4L IS, 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS

Either they introduce an EOS 3D for $2500 or they cut the price of the 1D MK II to $3999.

And finally I want a pigment based Canon A3+ printer, 9 colours $599
and an A2 version $1099.

You set SS and aperture, ...camera sets ISO to match light. ;-)

Such as:

-PRO line: like the 70-200mm f/2.8 IS, 24-70mm, etc.

-PRO-SUMER line: 70-200mm f/4 IS, more f/4 stuff.

-COMSUMER line: updated lenses with USM, little better preformance, etc.

3 lines, 3 price points, just a little more logical as opposed to having everything everywhere.

I know it's in the plans but, now i've finally got the camera, I can't wait for this. Sure would save all those leads all over the place, and weddings would be a dream.... Imagine just being able to PJ a wedding taking anything and everything and sorting it all out later....

Hmmm... nice

...Whatever they'll have in about ten years, but I want it now! Also I wouldn't mind, their bank account transferred over to mine ;)

auto ISO would be extremely useful for me.

I shoot under conditions where the light can change several stops from one shot to the next. I am lucky if I have two seconds to get the shot.

My ideal would be to set the camera at a flash sync speed of 1/500 to freeze subject motion, the lens to wide open to blur the background and let the camera change the ISO as needed for correct exposure.

Noise removal is much easier than fixing subject motion or getting rid of distracting backgrounds.

Currently, I go with the lens set wide open, the fill flash set to high speed sync - and often do not have nearly enough fill flash, and the ISO set at ISO 800 or higher to keep the shutter speed up on every shot.

... after the first couple of 'washes' with 100% isopropyl alcohol I found that my sensors collected less dust, and were easier to clean. In fact, I just use a sterile cotton swab and a little blower, and haven't needed a 'wet cleaning' for over a year.
I shoot in an animal hospital ... it would be hard to find more dust and hair!

There seems to be some sort of coating on the sensors; many have reported, and I have observed, smearing the first time or two while wet cleaning. This went away ... and life has been good.

I shoot about 300 sessions a year at the hospital (I am there 12 hours a week) and it takes no more than one minute per day to clean the sensor ... making it a total non-issue.
BTW, most of my 'fun' shooting is nature stuff ... often in dusty conditions.

I need my MKII's focus points in AI mode to light up!

Not much to ask is it.

Mk II was supposed to have been $3999 as of July 31, don't know WHAT happened to that one.

Thought about this, then thought about the guest at the wedding with his laptop, itercepting all of my images.

I'm sure that this will become a big issue at sporting events in the next 2-3 years. Forget about not being able to bring big white lenses into a game. Now they'll be frisking you for laptops.

I'll put it up, ...I'll put it down, ...I'll decide when to release the shutter...with NO 30 sec.(or other) limit. How about this little item of REAL CONTROL, on a "pro" camera?

Also how about we "regress" to the manual-focus capability of the old top-level film bodies?
