Very well done
Thank you Vidau.Very well done
Nice one, I like the framing with the trees and the depth. Congratulations on your new camera. ;-)
Kostas! Always so nice to hear from you. I am glad that you liked the image. Thank you!Nice one, I like the framing with the trees and the depth. Congratulations on your new camera. ;-)
Thank you, Sam. I am kind of fond of this shot too.Lovely, Benedictus - the trees and branches frame him beautifully. Nice, thoughtful expression as well
Yes, with the same ancient lenses (and those will not change), and the same obsolete focusing mechanism (which I will not do without).. New camera?
...I certainly hope that the kid was not walking through pee! (it did not smell that way as far as I recall). "Slash" was a typo. I am not well versed on the English language and you will see many grammatical mistakes in what I write. In this case, however, it was an honest typo of something written in haste. If you look up the thread you will see that I made the corrections to "Slush" the moment I realized my mistake. In England, we say " Slush", here 'Slash' means 'Pee' ;-)
Composition is not bad (I would have moved to the right a bit so that the slushy path is at a slight angle rather than going south to north). Also it's a tad underexposed.
Good point. I could have taken two shots by moving to the side on one of them. Instead I took two from the same spot (and I chose the one with the more interesting expression on the main character).Composition is not bad (I would have moved to the right a bit so that the slushy path is at a slight angle rather than going south to north).
This is so dependant on the monitor that you see the image on! The dng file itself is certainly not underexposed. It is a twilight shot, and I tried to represent it as such. For me, prints are the final product. I do tests (in small size) to determine the right amount of exposure. I've given up trying to guess the final answer from what I see on my screen. You are never off by much, but it is this small amount what the game is all about (assuming that the image is worth playing the game in the first place). Also it's a tad underexposed.
This particular driver appreciates and learns from feedback. But you took the picture so you're the driver here.
Sorry for being defensive here. For me an M is just a camera. It has no shortages of flaws, but I grew up with them and I feel totally at ease with one on my hands. Let me make it very clear that this speaks about my own limitations, not about any merit of the M system. I am not rich (far from it), and my M system does not seat unused as a weird house display trophy. Quite the contrary. It is almost always by my side, wherever I go.Anyway the Leica is a top camera.... good for taking photos too! :-D
You too Sup. Thank you for the feedback.Cheers
