View NX

Actually, it is the joy of being in the bleeding edge. I don't have problem in xp.

Well low and behold after reading the latest replies I uninstalled my HP Scanner and software and the installation completed and the runs. I had a couple of suggestions from Nikon that didn't work but I will let them know as I'm sure others have.

Thanks

After I uninstalled my HP scanner and software and installed View NX , View NX worked. I then re-install the HP scanner and software and neither of the programs ran. So I uninstalled the HP software again and reboot the computer but it wouldn't reboot. I had to turn it off with the switch. After it restarted View NX did run OK soI guess for the time being I'll keep my HP scanner not installed. I'm glad I don't have an HP printer now

I was able to succesfully install viewnx on my desktop. I use window xp pro and did not need to uninstall my hp (deskjet 670c) software.

My problem actually lies when I try to use it this way - I have a main folder for my pictures (folder name My Pictures). In this main folder I have several subfolders - 2005, 2006, 2007. And in each of these subfolders are another set of subfolders. I use the date of the shoot as the folder name eg. 071115 (to represent the date of the shoot)...

On the directory tree, when I click on My Pictures folder, the program crashes. However if i click on the "+" sign to expand the folders, and go directly into the subfolder, say the 071115 folder, it works fine...

I to can not get a full install-- The "progress line" stops --looks like 100% but doesn't finish.

I have three HP products installed--a scanner, a laser printed and a photo printer-- I feel that to uninstall all of these and then re-install after downloading view is a waste of my time.
I have a brand new computer that is running xp pro.
