Using just one strobe. How would you do it.

The only time in the last 20 years that I produced something similar, was when I shot some bottles like is for the Advertising agency that was handling the Baileys account...

.. back in 2004.

This image, which was created for the Health Promotion Agency's 'Smoking for two' ad campaign...

.. was lit in the same way as yours, except I obviously didn't black out the area directly behind her.

I remember it was shoot in their boardroom - so some light may have bounced of their walls or I may have used a reflector - not sure about that - as it was also taken back when I used to do a lot of that type of work.

Nice I like the effect on the smoking for two. Back lit, even the clothes the photographer wears can bounce back onto the subject.

I did play with the silhouette by placing a white reflector further and closer to fill the image. Quite a lot of fun. I posted the non-filled version as I liked it best for the thread.

also, the bottle is a great way to build the shot, adding additional lights &/or reflectors until the desired image is there- for label and impact or in your case, a successful result as designed.

once a a month I hold a model shoot for photographers in the area and also teach a few tricks like these.
