Using iPad HDMI or USB-C connected monitor with Z 7II

Apple usb3 adapter is lightning to female usb-a. Then normal usb-a to usb-c cable - I used one that came with camera.

Some 3rd party usb3 adapters also appear to work, but not always. Must be usb3, usb2 adapter even original apple one does not work.

Is it possible? I know about wireless solutions such as the CamRanger II , which I already own. But I’d like a hardwired solution.
Not 100% clear what you're trying to do. I see four uses of an iPad:
  1. Display what's on the camera. Done via HDMI cable.
  2. Tethered shooting. Done with USB-C cable, and using special software on the iPad (someone mentioned Cascable).
  3. Download to the iPad. Done via SnapBridge (wireless), NX Air (wireless), special wireless equipment (Camranger), or USB-C cable to Apple Photos.
  4. Record video. Done via HDMI cable to special hardware (e.g. Atomos Ninja, or Acsoon's giant phone dongle).
(If you're using a Lightning equipped iPad, you'll need a dongle for cabled options, and you'll achieve far slower transfers.)

So what exactly are you trying to do?

A late-ish update.

Things have changed. Finally.

There is inexpensive hardware in form of USB HDMI Grabbers (less than 15 Euros typically), and there is an excellent free App for the iPad, "Genki Studio".

(for some reasons these things are more expensive in the U.S.)

(Choose "color" usb-c)

This also should work with the iPhone 15 or newer.
