Trimoon Tutorial Here

This goes to show that this tutorial is great on people as well as things...LOL...Melissa
Sorry Stephen for misspelling your name. I have a cousin who
spells his name Steven and so if I don't think hard about the
spelling my fingers just type the name with his spelling.

Here is my first try at your tutorial:

Thanks again.

because I have been thinking about getting a Mac as my next computer. I saw a Mac G5 at a computer store and thought it was awesome with the 23 in screen but 5000.00 was not awesome.

I was hoping that some things can be done on Mac that is done on PC...Melissa

Sorry! You can’t use CTP.set (Preset) on a mac.
You have to use Buzz Pro not the Impressionist Filter.

...PS...I lived in PA for a while. Long enough to graduate...Melissa
At long last, after reaching the deepest pits of hell, I finally
have it posted. It's not what I had originally envisioned, but
those files are long gone. My computer fought me tooth and nail.
I lost a lot of images and data at the end, but I am a better man
for it. I hope you enjoy this. I am posting it in my PBase
Gallery because it is the easiest. I still have a lot of work to
get caught up on, but the important stuff is gone and I decided to
devote today to getting this tutorial posted as I promised. I am
very sorry it took so long, and I really appreciate your patience.
Some of you who have e-mailed me to console me during my trials
know what it’s like. Anyway, without further ado, here it is.

I can't find the CTP set to load. Where is that file at?

Wonderful, Steve! I can't wait to try! You are very generous to share this amazing technique. I love the CDs, and this just adds. Can't try yet, as my first grandchild is about to emerge........going back to the hosipital after a few hours of shuteye........hope to awaken at 3 am at get back. Wonder how this'll look on a baby photo?!!

Thanks so much again............and I'm so happy to hear you are at least somewhat recovering from such a nightmakre with the computer.

Let me know what you think. I worked on it for 3 hours. I would love to have another 8 but need to go to bed. :O)
Melissa

Oh my gosh Bill! This is awesome looking! I have got to give it a
try myself.

Thanks Steve for taking the time to put this together for us!
Especially after all you've been through recently.

Pat:

Beautiful! Very nicely done and I wouldn't change a thing. However, I want to suggest something for others who may find the background too heavy. You can take the original layer, put it on top of this one, and then adjust the opacity. It will put a little more detail in the background -- as much as you like. However, personally I would not change this image at all. Very nicely done.

Bill:

This is very nice and I'd like to make one suggestion. If you create a layer above this image, set the blending mode to color dodge and use the Art 333 brush. rather than use blue use white, you can lighten some of the hull and water area. This works with the other colors, too. Just use the appropriate color -- red for red and blue for blue, etc. This is just a suggestion. I like what you've done very much.

You will find all the brushes and presets at the bottom of each page in the tutorial. If you are using the PDF file, everything is on the last file.

I thought you folks would like to know that, in the first hour of posting the tutorial, we had 4,500 hits total on all the pages where it's posted. We had a total of 12,700 downloads in the first 24 hours. It's not that I'm actually keeping count. It's something that I discovered that pleased me. I get great satisfaction in knowing that the hard work was appreciated and I want to thank you all for your kind words, encouragement and patience. I have to say that the release of part 1 was quite a success. There are 2 more parts to come. Part 2 is based on BuzzPro. Part 3 will probably be the best of the bunch. Two of the subject matters will be a landscape and a still life. For those of you who have had problems with the size of the file due to dial up, I will probably make a disk available for those who ask but I'll probably wait until all 3 parts are done.

Thanks, Steve. Actually I used both 333 and 334 on this since I was just experimenting. Then I restored "most" of the color back. Then I overlayed the darkening "aging" layer to give it an old European canal look. I tried lightening the water and waterline, but went back to the dark after printing it both ways. This technique is so powerful and versatile, I swear I have a case of the vapors!
Thanks again! Bill

Sounds great and for me at least, pbase is running at a snail's pace - I was wondering if it was all the traffic on your tut :-) I see your galleries on pbase's 'poplular galleries' a lot, so I'm guessing that more than just the retouch here, retouchPro and infogrphx people are hitting it.

Now I need to get the filter from an old copy of Front Page which, of course, I can't find.

Good Job

I went to the gallery but it escapes me where there is a place to vote.

By the way i am on a dial up and it was not a problem at all loading the pics up.
