Unless you have some sort of restriction on image size (small sd chip) don't use 1.3. Go ahead and live the high life with full size images in all occasions! It is much easier to resize an image down than the other way.The camera does go to ISO 800 if I use MP of 1.3 and I usually
don't go higher than that because I don't blow up my prints. If I
know the shot I'm taking will be printed big..I switch to a higher
MP (which I LOVE!)
Image #4: Way too fast shutter speed to get a decent shot here
(1/100of a second). Also, you can really see the noise in the
picture due to using ISO 800. Aperture 3.6 gave you a shallower
depth of focus, which can be ok in this situation if you had
dropped your shutter speed down.
1/200 is actually faster. For the night scenes you were capturing I would think that a shutter speed in the range of 1/6 would be better (depending on how much light is available, of course).Ok so 1/200 would have been better? The subject wasn't moving. And
I need to calm down on the high ISO?
Slower shutter speed and larger apertures (smaller number) allows more light to enter your camera. Keeping this in mind, go ahead and play with the camera using variations of settings: this is the best way to learn the capabilities of your cam.Note to self...high Aperture must = lower shutter speed?
