The very frustrating Canon SLR forum - an in-depth user review of the DPREVIEW forums

You're lucky. Not everybody has cable or T3. In fact, many people use 56K analog modems over POTS telephone lines. It may not be the sites fault, but easy forum modifications would make this site a lot more enjoyable for many people.

I have used cable modems in IL and OK in the US, and I seldom have
any wait for loading posts. I have used it on T3 at school, and
the same results. Alot of the loading issues isn't the sites
fault. The internet is a interesting thing, and depending on what
routes your packets take you can get slowed down at a intermediate
switch off spot.

Keep up the good work Phil!

Marcel.......you are killing yourself. Just look at the amount of time that you would have saved if you hadn't written this note. I hate to admit and I don't won't to offend you but it was just too lengthy for me to read. Fortunately, or unfortunately my attention span will not allow me to read every post. I visit this site a couple times a day but I am extremely selective with what I read.

Enjoy your camera....take more pictures.

This forum is making me more and more frustrated every week! Not
just the Canon SLR forum, but any forum on DPRreview to be honest.

Why, oh why, do people insist on not taking a moment to delete the
image link when they reply to a message that contained an image.
This just doubles, triples, etc., the bandwidth it takes to load
and read a thread.
Actually that should have no impact on bandwidth and load speeds: the image should be cached by your browser and so does not need reloading.

Also, the images have no effect on Phil's storage and bandwidth since they are all external links.
