That same hawk---continued

This morning, a little while after I got up, I looked out the kitchen window and saw that same hawk, standing on a fence post again. That time, it was on a different post, a little farther out. That fence line goes across the field, front to back--front from my position. I got a camera and went outside and stood by a vehicle and made several photos. There are a lot of little saplings out there with stems and branches interfering somewhat. I used autofocus for some clicks, then used manual focus. None are very sharp, for the day, but a few are usable, with computer sharpening. I usually have to sharpen some anyway, partly because of reducing photos, which require at least a little sharpening. The close-ups of this bird were not reduced, just cropped down to this.

It was nice that the hawk was still out there today. I could try for more photos, and it was good just to watch it. It was on that post eating something this morning.

I made several photos, then tried to get to a better position. I figured it knew I was out there, but was not concerned, but eventually it looked right at me, and then took flight. It flew around a little. A car stopped and people talked a bit about what I was doing, then left. I looked back and the bird was gone. I looked and looked, but no bird, so I went back in. I put the camera away, got back to the kitchen and looked out, and there it was again. I got the camera out again and went back outside. The hawk flew a little more then landed on the same post. I made more photos, but the saplings were a problem. After a while, it flew again, and cruised around, up some, then low, then back up a little, and drifted off. Sometimes, in all my watching, I saw it go to ground, then very soon come back up and continue searching. I made several photos of it flying. Here are two.

I soon lost track of it again, and walked some to the left and spotted it on the ground of a hay field that was still very short, more like a home yard. It was eating something. I made a couple photos and went back home. All for today.
