Tamron Firmware Updates NOT Supported on Mac OS X Catalina

Tap In is a additional accessory that is used for Canon EF, Nikon F and Sony A lens mounts. It is not the software updater (free) that is downloadable from Tamron's website to update Sony E and I am assuming all newer camera mounts. Tap In seems to be a legacy product to support older lens mounts.
if that's the case, then just download a copy of windows from microsoft unlicensed, use Mac bootcamp install it, use windows to update your firmware and delete the bootcamp afterwards.

You left yourself open for this, so here goes

Here's what I think you should have said:

"Had I known this, I would have considered purchasing Apple a bit more and are now relectant to purchase any future Apple products."

Really. Apple products are a small fraction of PCs out there. And Apple is notorious for trying to keep their ecosystem closed, or at least difficult to enter. What did you expect? I don't think Tamron's attitude is unreasonable. Given how common they are, surely you must know someone with a Windows machine.
No. Tamron is completely in the wrong in this matter. Unlike iOS, macOS is completely open. Apple does not gatekeep Mac development at all, aside from requiring that developers sign their apps. (And if a developer refuses to sign their app, what kind of developer are they?)

Like many other companies for whom software is not a core business, Tamron is simply being stingy by not allocating resources to update their Mac firmware installer. It is absolutely a hostile attitude toward Mac-using customers.

I am surprised that the tap-in console does not work with the Sony E mount. It is not, however a device to support older lens mounts unless you are saying the Nikon f mount is an older lens mount. It will work with all past and current Nikon dslrs. Just not the Z's. I guess you could get an A mount to E mount adapter but that would be very expensive for what should be a free upgrade. Good luck!

I heard that you can downgrade versions but data loss might be incurred.
