Strange xt2 problem

Hi Jerry

Took some time figurin´ this out ... after downloading & installing the Fujifilm X Acquire software from the Fujifilm Global website you have to click on the respective Fujifilm X Acquire icon in the launchpad. This launches an Acquire icon in the taskbar on the top of your desktop screen. On your camera you then have to select "USB RAW CONV./BACKUP RESTORE" option in "menu" > "WRENCH" > "CONNECTION SETTING" > "PC CONNECTION MODE", connect the camera to your MAC using a USB-micro SD cable. You then have to your camera ON. The greyed-out Acquire icon in the taskbar then blinks & turns a black/blue color. If you left-click on this Acquire icon you then see the options to back-up or restore camera settings

hope this helps, please let me know if you have any question!

many thanks & best rgds, Hendrik
Thanks VERY much, Hendrik, for your detailed instructions. I finally did get this to work yesterday after a few failed efforts and a lot of frustration. Pity that Fuji has made the process less intuitive than it should be. Usually, I don't struggle with these sorts of things.

hi Jerry

happy it worked out for you & that I could help a little - camera makers unfortuntately seem to be a bit "backward" when it comes to software ... (had same experience with CaNikon before moving to Fuji)

All the best wishes to you & DPR, lots of fun, success & great photography for the new year 2018!

Hendrik

Now that the X-E3 firmware has been upgraded, this works on my E3 as well. But, as Peter points out, not all cables are the same. I could not get the software to work with the cable I use for USB charging, but another cable worked fine. FINALLY! Really appreciate the caution. Thanks, Roger
