For quite some time now (maybe since the DPR site was "saved" by the new owners, and some changes were made to the website?) I have a repeating issue when making posts here on DPR: when I write a post or reply with a paragraph break, the breaks aren't saved when I finish writing and post it to the site.

This also only happens when I am using Safari with my Mac Mini M2 with Logitech MX Keys Mini. It does not happen when I post using my phone or iPad (iOS), also using the mobile version of Safari.

I'd be curious to know if anyone else is experiencing something similar. Running the most current version of Sequoia, but it was happening in the previous OS as well. Could it be a Safari issue?

In these two pics you can see where there was no break between the second and third paragraph. There is a break between the first and second, but that is random; most often there are no breaks after posting, and I resort to correcting the post on my phone.

I have observed the same behavior with pasted text, but not bothered to run it down. The time it takes to add the paragraph breaks hasn’t triggered my need to investigate causes and fixes.

I have not noticed this happening.

I use rechargeable Apple Bluetooth keyboards; either the long version with the number pad on the right, or the standard one without the number pad (depending on how much of my desk space Trixie insists on using.

Here’s Trixie helping me sort photos of her on my retired iMac. Since getting the Mini she has claimed the desk space in front of the pedestal.

How are you making the paragraph breaks? Just with the return key or some other way?

You can see a lot just by looking.
And you can learn a lot by reading the manual.

Unfortunately I'd be sneezing non-stop if that were my setup :)

When I compose a post I do simply use the enter/return key for paragraph breaks. Again, it's only on this website that it happens, so it will remain a mystery I guess.

Most likely the DPR site is configured to strip the additional HARD RETURN from your pasted text. “Best practice” for the web would be to use a style sheet to put the space between paragraphs.

Any change would be on the back end. It’s not something we can easily change or control.

If you want to continue to pursue an answer on this topic you could try asking the question on the Site Feedback and Help forum .
Thanks for that, it's not a big deal, I was mostly wondering if anyone else was experiencing it. It doesn't affect any other site or use of my computer, so I'll just deal with it as it happens :)
